Winter fishing trip in Kollafjørður
The Faroe Islanders have a tradition for fishing in winter. The catches can be good and the quality of the fish is excellent.
You sail from the marina of Kollafjørður out to the area “Tangafjørður”. The Tangafjørður is part of a larger inshore area fairly protected from ocean swells and currents.

You may catch several species of fish such as Atlantic cod, haddock, saithe, whiting, ling, tusk, whiting and perhaps flatfish where there is sandbed. Your catch is yours to keep! We bring floatation suits and boots, but you must still remember to wear warm clothes. The local recomendation is to wear Faroese wool, especially woolen socks.
