Change ©f Attitude at War Pensions Agency? Over the past 2 years or so, we have heard of nearly 20 successful applications to the War Pensions Agency for conditions including cancers of the pancreas, pharynx, prostrate, thyroid, lymphoma, duodenal ulcer, stomach, salivary gland, multiple myeloma (3 cases), polycythemia, non-Hodgkins, cataract and psychiatric conditions. We know, that of the 20 cases in which Sue Rabbitt Roff has been asked to make submissions and which have been heard to date, 17 have been successful - 5 of these were represented by our solicitor, Ian Greenhalgh. He has only lost one of the six cases he has handled so far. We have heard that Derek Heaps has also won 2 cases recently. Interestingly, Ian has secured 2 joint applications on appeal that went against the applicant - one reversed the decision and the second is still ongoing. Both Sue and Ian are prepared to review a case for free and then advise if they think it is worth pursuing. If you want your case assessed - including an application to reverse a Decision on Appeal - please send as much information as you can, (including your statement of Case), by recorded mail, to use at 484 Perth Road, Dundee DD2 1LR or to Ian at Unit B, Worthington Way, Marus Bridge, Wigan WN3 6XE. Recorded mail is very important to ensure nothing goes astray and it would be appreciated by both Sue and Ian, if you could include a cheque to the value of £5.00 to cover the cost of returning your documents and passing them back and forth between Sue and Ian. Finally, if you have won (or) lost a case, please let Sheila Gray have the details, not only to put in your file, but in the possibility, that it may help another veteran win his case in the future.

WAR PENSION APPLICATIONS IMPORTANT NOTICE & ADVICE When you have a war pension claim in the pipeline, do not sit back and wait-and wait-and wait, for them to get back to you. You must keep up the pressure by constantly ringing them, write to your MP and contact your local newspaper, let them know that you are there and what is happening to you! If you don’t, your case could hang on indefinitely! When the WPA receives a letter with an MP’s logo on it, this can help to stir them into getting on with things! We have been passive for long enough!
