t was a reunion to end reunions. Three soldiers and three marines came face to face at our 45th Anniversary Service in Portsmouth in February. And that was the first time they had seen each other since 1952 - an astonishing gap of 45 years since they were last side by side. They last met as members of the Advance Party leaving Portsmouth on 19th February, 1952. And that’s where they met up again 45

years on in an emotional reunion that cer tainly brought back many, many memories. Pictured outside the Cathedral are: BACK ROW: Mike Hoare (ex-Royal Marines, HMS Zeebrugge); Richard Collins (ex-Royal Engineers HMS Zeebrugge); Tom Wilson (ex-Royal Navy HMS Narvik). FRONT ROW: Ken Gower (ex-Royal Marines HMS Narvik); Peter Fletcher (exRoyal Engineers HMS Zeebrugge) and Alf Ollis (ex-Royal Engineers HMS Narvik).
