ClassBuilder allows the teacher to maintain all student grades and attendance online for the learner to access through the use of their personal e-mail and password. The learner is also able to complete online quizzes and exercises that are designed by the teacher. The teacher has access to various ready-made exercises and handouts that also save time in lesson plan preparation. Handouts Online is another resource that gives the teacher handouts that can be easily printed out and used in class. The objective is that teachers have more resources at their disposal in an effort to give them more time to plan other types of activities that require a higher-level of learning, such as collaborative, project-based instruction. Moreover, the learner begins to take more responsibility for their own learning, since now exercises can be made

available on a more individual basis if needed. Plus, they have access to their grades and attendance at all times, so they can better track their progress. The final line item lists Dell Computers. This grant project is forecasted over five years with the intention of buying four computers each year. Additional computers give learners more opportunities to take advantage of the language lab and the tutoring assistance at the university. We feel the demand for computers will increase based on two assumptions: 1) increased technology use inside the classroom will encourage more students to use technology in other language learning areas, and 2) through addition inservices, teachers will begin to design instruction and assessment that incorporates technology. It is the latter that we want to draw to your attention.
