FIRST WINDOWS & DOORS, along with Cycling New Zealand, BMX New Zealand, the Mainland North Region & the Christchurch City BMX Club are proud to present the 2018 BMX New Zealand South Island Titles, the premier South Island event for BMX racing in New Zealand. The following guidelines will detail the event & all the requirements for entry.

NUMBER PLATES:
Official Event Number plates will be issued to riders by the Club Team Manager and must be used within this event, including all official prac$ce sessions.
A rider holding a 1 – 8 ranking from the following mee$ngs; UCI Worlds 2017, BMXNZ Na$onal Champs 2017, Oceania Con$nental Champs 2017, North Island Titles 2017 or South Island Titles 2017 and wish to use this number at this event, the ranking must be indicated at entry online. Any riders not entering with a ranking or with an incorrect ranking will be issued with randomly selected numbers.

MOTO DRAW:
BMX NZ computer moto mixing & lane draws Quarter & Semi Finals – snake seeding method
LANE DRAW SELECTION:
Quarters, Semis and Finals Only. Order of lane choice based on count back to moto points.
MINIMUM CLASS SIZE
5 riders cons$tute a class (amalgama$ons as required). Class sizes will be determined aQer the close of entries for trophy alloca$on purposes.
MICO SUPERseries - 6 rider cons$tute a class.
CHALLENGE 20” & CRUISER Classes:
4 motos Saturday, 2 motos Sunday then finals (depending on class sizes)
8 or less riders: 4 motos Saturday, 3 motos Sunday, points aggregated
9 or more riders: 4 motos Saturday, 2 motos Sunday then;
9-16 riders: to deadman final
17-32 riders: to deadman semis & deadman final
33-64 riders: to quarters, semis & final (all deadman)

KIWI SPROCKETS:
Riders will ride in UCI age classes for this event. Standard racing formats apply.
TIED POSITIONS:
All $ed posi$ons will be separated by Countback. No run-offs will be held.
CONTINGENCY PLANS:
In case of disrup$on or weather, moto format may be changed, at the discre$on of the Chief Commissaire. In cases of extreme delay or weather, Monday may be used as an alternate day for racing
PRIZE GIVING:
This will be held trackside Sunday 14 January, approximately 30 minutes aQer the finish of racing.
AWARDS & TROPHY ALLOCATION:
Determined from the $me that entries close for Trophy purposes. For trophy placings, a count back method will be used to rank riders on equal points at the end of racing
Challenge Classes with 8 riders or less: Trophies and Presenta$on Plates to 3rd place Classes with 9+ riders: Trophies to 3rd place and Presenta$on Plates to 8th place Personalised cer$ficates will be sent to clubs as soon as available.
LKtraz SUPERclass/MICO NZ SUPERseries Purse:
$1500 NZD + payback as per flyer – To be paid at prize giving Purse split per BMXNZ propor$ons and calculated per class based on number of entries. No trophies or presenta$on plates to be issued.
SCRUTINEERING:
Officials will randomly check riders before and during the event, including all official prac$ce and warm up sessions when safety gear and number plates must be worn. It is recommended that clubs & managers scru$neer all bikes prior to the event.
SECURITY:
There will be security at the track from 6.00 pm to 7.00 am on Friday, Saturday. However BMX New Zealand Inc., the host Region and Club accepts no responsibility for theQ or damage to property.

It is the sports policy to “make every prac$cal and reasonable effort to protect all visitors, to prevent accidents or serious harm injuries and promote safety and welfare of all persons while on the event facility”
BMXNZ, The Mainland North Region & Christchurch City BMX Club will take all possible steps to list and evaluate hazards and to determine solu$ons to eliminate or minimise those hazards as part of the Risk Management Plan (RMP), to meet the sports policy noted above.
BMX Racing is an ac$on sport & inherently has risks that are accepted as part of sport. All known risks are noted in the BMXNZ Major Mee$ng RMP & this is available onsite during the event. Par$es wan$ng to assess the RMP prior to entry must contact the club for detail. Entry to this event confirms an understanding of the risks of the sport as noted in the RMP.
In the event of injury to an event par$cipant, a completed entry is consent to proper medical treatment being administered. Event entry also consents to submit to drug tes$ng if required. All entrants agree to be bound by the regula$ons and general condi$ons for this event as published by BMXNZ in its latest rule book.
