Welcome to PMC Stadium for Wessex Premier Division clash with Downton.
We head into the month of March with a challenging fixture against Downton who are fighting for their lives towards the bottom end of the division. They will be well up for this fight today, so we have to ensure we’re at it ourselves.
The month of February was a flawless one for ourselves and Matt Jones has taken the Interim helm and overseen with four successive victories.
We were made to work for it on Tuesday evening here against Cowes Sports, but a stand-out performance from Charlie Bell and a clincher from Kelvin Robinson was enough to get over the line.
As we enter the penultimate month of the campaign, we sit in fifth space, the final play-off spot - where we finished last campaign. It would be a great achievement for this squad to finish in the play-offs and it promises to be an exciting end to the 2024/25 term.
It’s our honour to be hosting the Game For Lola Charity Match here at PMC Stadium afternoon, supporting young Lola’s brave fight against Nephroblastoma, a rare form of kidney cancer. It would be incredible to see as many of you here as
possible to raise money for Sophie’s Legacy and Abby’s Heroes, the two charities supporting Lola and many other children in hospital.
There will be plenty for families to do around the ground, as well as an auction after the match with signed football shirts up for grabs - with all money donated to the charities.
Please enjoy the game this afternoon and we look forward to welcoming you back for our midweek clash against Portland United in ten days’ time.

The Wessex Football League Show is the official podcast of the Velocity Wessex Football League. We are on air live from Awaaz 99.8FM studios & simultaneously on Fiesta 95FM based in Southampton from 14:00 to 16:00 every Sunday and you can also listen live on www.awaazfm.co.uk from anywhere in the world.
Our aim is to promote all loc al football but specifically the 40 teams of the Wessex Football League. So far, we have had managers, chairpersons, players, press officers and secretaries joining us as studio guests, and via zoom and phone guests from many Wessex Football League clubs, as well as guests from local teams both higher up and lower down the pyramid.
This is your show and is a platform for your club to promote its events and raise its profile. If your club produces post -match interviews, please either email us a copy of the audio or give permission for us to play them on air straight from your website or social media sites, as we will aim to play them on the show.
