WELCOME Welcome to the Onboard Hospitality Awards 2026 – one of the biggest ever years in the history of these prestigious awards.

The standard of entries this year has been exceptionally high. With nearly 300 products entered and eight major airlines in the running to be crowned Cabin Concept of the Year 2026, our judges have been handed a difficult task to select this year's winners.

As always, helping them in their decision-making was our online readership vote, which plays a vital role in selecting which products make it through the first round to become finalists. Thank you to everyone – over 5000 of you – who took the time to vote.

While the number of products entered has increased across the board this year, we have seen huge growth in the number of food and beverage entries in particular. This is a testament to the importance of F&B to passengers, and the innovation going on in this space is tremendous.

As such, we had to expand our judging panel this year to meet the demand – you can meet them on page six. Their global perspectives are an invaluable part of the Onboard Hospitality Awards' prestige.

MEET THE JUDGES Our commitment to honest and transparent judging...

Expert opinions

Key to the enduring success of the Onboard Hospitality Awards is our unique judging process, of which we are extremely proud.

Peer pressure All entries are first voted for online by our international readership, allowing for informed peer-to-peer recognition.

Those eligible to vote are our readers, the buyers and suppliers of onboard hospitality, who are best placed to recognise a good product or service, or a true innovation.

The online voting determines who makes it to the final round. These entries are then invited to provide product samples to be judged in person by our independent panel.

Our judges are experts with many years of onboard hospitality experience.

They include buyers and decision-makers from airlines and rail companies, as well as chefs, caterers and industry consultants.

This year the panel has brought together experts from Canada, the US, the Middle East, Australia and Europe, offering a truly global perspective.

ir Europa first launched its Boeing 787-9 Business Class concept in July 2019. Five years later, the airline has now received its final aircraft with the configuration. In this time, it has continued to upgrade the passenger experience, including a key update to its inflight entertainment (IFE) graphical user interface (GUI), completed in December 2025.

The concept represents a step forward for the airline. Frequent passengers experience a clear upgrade: moving from older configurations to a modern design that feels like stepping into a new level of travel.

Design The new Business Class cabin promotes comfort and privacy compared to the previous configuration. It has moved from a 2-2-2 configuration to a 1-2-1 cabin, aligning with leading global airlines. Seats offer direct aisle access and exceptional space: 165cm (65”) between seats and 50cm (20”) wide, ensuring privacy and freedom of movement. Each seat is designed for functionality and comfort, featuring a personal reading light, power outlets and USB ports for device charging, and an individual entertainment system with a high-quality screen and a wide selection of content.

ir France's La Première suites have gradually been rolled out on a selection of Boeing 777-300ERs. The new La Première cabin was first launched on flights to New York in April 2025, and by the end of 2026 the entire La Première network will feature these new cabins.

Featuring five windows – an Air France exclusive – as well as a seat and a sofa that converts to a true two-metre-long bed, the new Air France La Première cabin promises a unique experience enhanced by personalised service and a three-star gourmet offering.

Interior Design The cabin’s design features a harmonious colour palette dominated by shades of grey, with leathertrimmed finishes and exclusive fabrics created for La Première. Touches of red, reminiscent of haute couture, add character and distinction.

Champagne-coloured metallic accents enhance every detail, while the dark carpeting creates a sense of airiness and fluidity.

To create an unparalleled sense of space, overhead compartments have been replaced with floor-level storage. A large sliding drawer accommodates up to two carry-on suitcases, while a second drawer under the chaise longue provides space for footwear. A personal compartment with a backlit mirror is available near the seat for personal belongings, along with a wardrobe.

Light plays a central role. The five windows fill the space with natural brightness, creating a serene atmosphere. They feature electric translucent or blackout shades. The lighting system includes two lamps adorned with the signature Air France

winged seahorse, available as both wall-mounted and floor-standing fixtures. Subtle ambient lighting accompanies each phase of the flight.

Comfort The seat adjusts to different phases of the flight: takeoff, landing, dining or relaxation mode. oJet Airlines and partner United Airlines were seeking a key differentiator in the regional aviation space. Their goal was to provide a one-of-a-kind experience for Business and regional travellers while offering additional assistance and perks for regional flight crews.

The cabin concept for the CRJ-550 came from a desire to offer non-economy travellers more options via larger regional aircraft. GoJet Airlines wanted to differentiate the 50-seat aircraft market by offering First and Economy Plus seating, something no other comparable aircraft has.

Converting a current 50-seat aircraft would have made the vision impossible. However, GoJet's partner, United Airlines, had 70-seat CRJ-700s to spare, which created a unique opportunity. GoJet Airlines now had the space necessary for this type of conversion and offering while saving both the time and money of commissioning new aircraft.

The GoJet Airlines team was tasked with designing an aircraft cabin within the CRJ-700 body that could accommodate all three levels of cabin pricing and use the additional space available to create a unique passenger experience and ease the burden on small flight crews.

ure Polish is LOT Polish Airlines’ first fully unified cabin concept – a coherent design system blending Polish light, landscape, craft and hospitality with LOT’s brand heritage and translating it into a calm, contemporary passenger experience.

Pure Polish is designed as part of a continuous journey, seamlessly aligned with LOT’s airport lounges, digital touchpoints and philosophy.

Introduced on the Boeing 737 MAX, the concept establishes a scalable design language across aircraft types and travel classes, balancing emotional warmth with operational intelligence.

Interior design The Pure Polish cabin interior is inspired by the light and landscapes of Poland. Soft gradients evoke the skies over the Tatra Mountains, shifting subtly from deep, immersive blues in Business, through warm copper tones in Premium Economy, to lighter, airier hues in Economy. This creates a natural emotional progression through all classes within a coherent visual language.

Architectural vertical rhythms reference Polish industry and modern architecture, providing structure and calm. The iconic LOT crane is reinterpreted as a sculptural and graphic motif – which appears across bulkheads and partitions.

Light in the cabin is treated as a design material: warm amber accents soften the space, enhance comfort and support circadian wellbeing, while layered surfaces add depth without excess decoration. The result is a cabin that feels familiar yet intriguing – recognisably LOT, yet distinctly evolved.

Comfort Comfort is achieved through thoughtful, integrated design, rather than headline features alone.

Across all cabin, seating is ergonomically optimised with tuned recline, six-way adjustable headrests, personal device holders and 60W USB-C power at every seat. Materials were selected for tactile warmth and durability, creating a tangible sense of calm and quality.

and future personal devices, while integrated device holders enable comfortable, intuitive use without add-on accessories.

Digital and physical touchpoints onboard share the same visual language as LOT’s lounges and brand environments creating a sense of continuity.

This reflects a belief that the most advanced cabin is not always the most complex but the one that feels effortless, calm and considered.

Service/crew Pure Polish expresses Polish hospitality through spatial choreography, not slogans. Cabin layouts, lighting zones and material warmth are designed to support natural, empathetic service interactions.

Vertical elements subtly frame moments of welcome, while warmer tones in social and service areas encourage approachability. The same design language appears in LOT’s business lounges, uniforms and digital interfaces, ensuring passengers experience a consistent tone of care through their journey.

CSR elements zones protect high-wear areas, while lighter upper surfaces add perceived spaciousness, balancing comfort, aesthetics and longevity.

Comfort is consistent but not uniform: each class has its own expression, investment level and spatial character, while fitting a recognisable family.

Technology Pure Polish takes a human-centred approach to technology, focusing on passenger experience. LOT prioritised everyday relevance and longevity. Ultrafast USB-C power at every seat supports current

Sustainability is embedded through durability, locality and intelligent investment. All seats in the new 737 MAX cabin are manufactured in Świebodzin, Poland, supporting local industry, reducing transport emissions, and enabling closer quality control. iyadh Air aims to redefine the guest experience by creating a seamless, elevated journey that reflects its bold identity and commitment to excellence. Through innovative training, distinctive uniforms and a cohesive brand language, crew are empowered to deliver intuitive, authentic and world-class hospitality.

This concept integrates elegance and modernity across every touchpoint from striking liveries and fashion-forward uniforms to curated dining, and refined interiors, ensuring consistency and sophistication. The goal is to position Riyadh Air as a next-generation airline that celebrates Saudi heritage while setting new global standards for style, service and sustainability.

Interior design From livery and branding to uniforms, interiors and service rituals, the goal was to create a cohesive design language that guests and crew instantly recognised. This meant integrating signature elements – such as the Canopy Twist inspired by Bedouin tents – and the rich colour palette into fashion, tableware, styling and digital interfaces.

The brief challenged teams to move past functional design and create moments of emotional connection. Every detail was intended to signal prestige, innovation and cultural pride.

Guests encounter a unified identity across all touchpoints. This consistency helps build trust and sophistication. The refined interiors reflect an obsessive attention to detail from the mocha gold veined stone accents to the thoughtfully curated palette: dark indigo, mocha, iridescent tones, skyline blue, sunset peach and lavender. The tone

is of rich sophistication with the identity of the city of Riyadh woven into everything. The new cabin interiors feature ergonomically crafted seating, plush materials and soothing colour palettes.

Premium finishes, sustainable materials and Saudi-inspired touches pair with global influences to create moments of indulgence and cultural connection for every cabin.

Not just a design concept, this is a holistic redefinition of the inflight experience, setting new global benchmarks

Technology As a digitally native airline, Riyadh Air sought to rethink traditional norms emphasising intuitive technology, sustainability and obsessive attention to detail whether through OLED screens, integrated audio or eco-conscious materials.

As Panasonic’s launch customer for Modular Interactive, the airline has built something entirely new, a cutting-edge entertainment system with 4K OLED screens, integrated audio and personalised content syncing, redefining onboard entertainment. Intuitive interfaces and cinematic immersion eliminate the frustrations of outdated systems.

Service/crew

meets sustainability and tableware becomes an important canvas for storytelling. Every piece embodies Hafawa – the spirit of Saudi hospitality – through meticulous design and purposeful detail.

The culinary programme reimagines traditional Saudi flavours with a modern twist while also celebrating established international favourites.

Business guests enjoy an order-on-demand concept on long-haul flights, for maximum flexibility and personalisation.

The meal service aims to deliver moments of connection, prestige and cultural pride.

The premium uniform line features timeless cashmere outerwear, elegant dresses and trousers in fine wools, custom leather footwear, amethyst earrings, and chic pillbox hats. Two exclusive hues: Electric Amethyst for womenswear and Dark Amethyst for menswear, were inspired by Saudi lavender fields.

Designed by Ashi Studio the uniforms combine elegance with functionality, empowering crew members to deliver service that feels elevated and stylish. New training initiatives ensure hospitality is intuitive, authentic, and aligned with Riyadh Air’s brand promise.

WISS Senses offers guests a redefined way of travelling from takeoff to landing on long-haul flights. Its centrepiece is the state-of-the-art cabin interior, which sets a new benchmark for comfort, design and personal wellbeing. The cabin is initially being introduced on the new Airbus A350-900, followed by a gradual rollout across the Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 fleets.

Yet SWISS Senses extends far beyond the cabin.

Across all four travel classes, new product and service highlights await guests – from enhanced dining experiences and thoughtfully designed amenities to signature touches that make every moment onboard memorable. All of these elements come together to create an experience where every detail reflects the airline's commitment to outstanding service and genuine passenger wellbeing.

include practical amenities that allow options for personalisation. Bedding is made from recycled materials, large pillows and light blankets are presented in harmonious colours. Sleepwear from Muntagnard and Zimmerli is offered and a seat topper is added for restful sleep. The signature scent Alpine Valley from Soeder ensures freshness and wellbeing. Highlights include an aperitif featuring fresh treats, handmade pralines from Aeschbach Chocolatier and Confiserie Sprüngli, a wide beverage selection, including among others the exclusive signature cocktail SWISS Alpine Essence.

More than just a cabin concept, this is a statement of Swiss quality and innovation combining functionality and emotion

Newly-designed lavatories with a spa-like feel are offered in all classes, accented with peacock tones for freshness and relaxation.

Technology State-of-the-art technology has been added for a personalised inflight experience including 4K QLED screens (up to 43 inches in SWISS First) with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing passengers to use their own headphones. USB-A, USB-C and wireless charging options are available, depending on travel class. Inflight entertainment tablets and individually controllable seat functions allow passengers to control heating/cooling and lighting.

Service / Crew Service procedures across all classes have been redefined – from table-setting and at-seat meal presentation, supported by up to nine months of additional crew training.

CSR elements

include a unique four-class configuration on every long-haul aircraft. A complete redesign of the cabin across all classes means all classes benefit from a timeless design concept with warm tones such as black, beige and bordeaux paired with premium materials to create a calm, elegant atmosphere.

Human centric lighting has been added to support the body’s natural biorhythm and help reduce the effect of jet lag. A next-generation inflight entertainment is included with larger screens and Bluetooth connectivity for personal electronic devices.

Sustainability has been at the heart of the concept with widespread use of recycled materials, reusable tableware, renewable packaging and collaborations with Swiss brands.
