President’s Message Welcome to our October Builder Buzz. We are officially in the fall season and in full swing to get the remaining projects started before the end of the construction season! Last month, we had our 30th Fall Parade of Homes throughout Bismarck-Mandan region with a great list of entries of homes on display and wonderful weather for everyone to see. I hope everyone had great success showcasing your homes. Don’t forget, on Tuesday, October 21st we will have the Fall Mixer and Annual Board of Elections at Lady J’s. This event is free to all members, team members, guests and prospective members. We will have our 2026 Board elections, a guest entertainment speaker/comedian Brandon Loftis, prizes, awards and a great social evening. In other exciting news this month: our very own PWB (Professional Women in Business) will be kicking off their “Room refresh” in 2 apartments for the Bismarck Cancer Center with help from our local association and board of directors. BUILDERS' SHOW (IBS) IS OPEN! Registration for NAHB's 2026 International Builders’ Show is now open! Sign up early for exclusive deals and book your hotel room. IBS 2026 will take place in Orlando, FL for the final time on February 17-19. The 2025 show welcomed 81,000+ visitors. If you are a NAHB member and this will be your first IBS, there is a special discount price of $195 for the Expo + Education pass. NDAB has a block of rooms at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. You can book your room through the registration process. The deadline to reserve rooms within our room block is December 17, 2025. After December 17, if there are any unreserved rooms in the block, they will no longer be accessible. The final day to book a hotel room through NAHB is January 26, 2026. What is an interesting fact about your business that most people don’t know? We were recently honored by earning the Art Bartlett 2100 Cup by Century 21. This is a lifetime achievement award in the Century 21 system for emulating the spirit of the Brand. It is presented to a company that exemplifies the values of leadership, adaptability, brand loyalty, and most Importantly— meaningful community involvement. It is an honor to be nationally recognized for our service to our clients and communities. A day in Life: Each day is different, which I do enjoy. Most of my day consists of problem-solving with agents, clients, our managers, and staff and the rest of my time is focused on reading, planning, training, and educating myself so that I can keep our brokerage and agents at the cusp of the industry. If I weren’t in the Realtor business, I’d be … a geologist, a park ranger or get my law degree. Looking Ahead: Our ten-year goal is simple – to be the premier brokerage in each of the markets we serve. This means offering the very best to our clients and agents. Consistent quality service is the number one goal. The best service. The best representation. The best training. The best marketing. Our goal is to be the preferred place for consumers to seek out professional services and to grow their wealth by investing in the American Dream. And the preferred place for professional agents to grow personally and professionally. Why Real Estate: I was teaching middle school and had just finished my master’s in educational leadership. I was in a mental space of trying to decide what I wanted to be “when I grow up.” I wanted to be in an industry where I could directly control my income but still serve and work closely with people. At that time, Century 21 Morrison Realty was owned by my in-laws, and I heard a lot about real estate, so I decided to try it and fell in love with it. I have never looked back, and I am grateful to be here today in this industry.

Our main competitor is who we were yesterday, and the focus is always on fostering a culture of shared success between clients, agents, and the brokerage. What is your favorite part of your job? Discovering the unique needs of our clients and agents and assisting them in getting to a solution. Each day is different and challenging and I am always growing and empowering others to grow as well – I love that part! Words to Live By: The view out my office every single day is a big sign that reads, “Remember Why You Started.” It keeps me grounded in my “why” and reminds me to have gratitude for all that I have and for the incredible professionals I work with daily. Outside of the Job: I like to go rock hunting, mow my lawn, read, learn new things, and sit in my backyard with coffee or a bourbon and cigar.

Around Our State October is Careers in Construction Month! This month, please help raise awareness of the well-paying jobs that are available in the home building and related trade professions. The home building industry offers strong earning potential. Half of all construction workers earn more than $60,320, compared to the U.S. median wage of $49,500. As many construction workers near retirement, more than 245,000 residential building jobs are open each month. Career and Technical Education students are well positioned to fill this gap. Workforce development is vital to help shape the next generation of builders! Thank you to Governor Armstrong who has officially declared October as Careers in Construction Month in North Dakota! You can now register for our Annual Banquet on November 4 th in Grand Forks. There will be committee meetings and the Annual Banquet on November 4 th along with the fall BOB HORAB BRITTNEY ROEHRICH board meeting on November 5th. The Annual Banquet will be held at the Ralph Engelstad 20245NDAB PRESIDENT NDAB CEO Arena and the meetings at the Hilton Garden Inn. We encourage all members to make the trip to Grand Forks as we induct our 2026 Board of Directors, 2026 President Nate Applegren, and announce our 2025 award winners!
