President’s Message

Welcome to our November edition of Builder Buzz! The October weather sure has presented a lot of challenges to those in the building industry trying to get these last projects in the ground before winter. I hope everyone meets their goals!

Last month was full of excitement for our BMHBA. We kicked off with our fall mixer at Lady J’s which hosted our annual Board election. I would like to thank our outgoing board members: Mckenzie Lawler and Joe Hillerson. You two have been a great addition to the BMHBA board over the years where your presence and dedication have been greatly appreciated! Thank you for your commitment. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to our new incoming board members: Jay Wickline with Artisan Homes, Missy Moritz with Bianco Realty, and re-elected board member Shane Gaffney with SRS Building Products. Our newly elected board members will be sworn in during our January banquet. We are excited to have you! Also, last but not least, thank you to all of those who attended and to our sponsors who helped make it a great evening.

Our very own PWB (Professional Women in Business) along with the help of many other volunteers and donors, completed the Bismarck Cancer Center “room refresh” with two apartment makeovers. The final turnout was awesome and now gives those who utilize the apartments a comforting, welcoming stay during their time of care. Well done, PWB!

As I always conclude, let’s keep striving to continue our growth in membership recruitment and support. Our association does many wonderful things for our building industry and our community. Let’s continue to grow and support one another! See you back next month!

Maestro Construction Services

Geovanny Morfin

What is an interesting fact that most people don’t know? What most people do not know usually is how far from home we usually are, Maestro Construction Services LLC is based out of Kennewick, WA. In North Dakota, we are at least 1,000 Miles or more from home base.

A day in The Life: operation in Maestro Construction Services is just busy, simply busy, there is always something to do for every member in Maestro Construction Services and hardly any downtime as our crew is one of the most resilient out there, working on the hottest of days and pushing through the coldest, we have worked both in -20 Degrees Fahrenheit and up to 110 Degrees Fahrenheit. We work weekends as well, our production hardly wavers.

If I wasn’t in the Construction business, I’d be … I would have been truck drivers. (Random Fact: Geovanny has his CDL)

Looking Ahead: We absolutely love being here in North Dakota, and we’re committed to staying rooted in this community as we continue offering our unique, distinguished craftsmanship. What started as “helping out a friend” has grown into making Bismarck our home and we can’t imagine being anywhere else. We’re grateful for the clients we’ve had the opportunity to work with, and we look forward to building new relationships both professionally and personally.

Why Construction: Eleazar, Founder of Maestro Construction Services LLC started working in the construction when he was 27 years old and after 6 Months, Eleazar knew he had the capacity to build on his own, having started off in roofing, Eleazar learned how to install a variety of sidings and excelled drastically in Framing. Eleazar aims to leave a good impression with any community he comes to build for, leaving great impressions on neighbors and onlooker of his craft. He also loves to learn because in construction, there is a thousand ways to build and in Maestro, no build is too difficult for us, we welcome the challenge.

What Sets Us Apart: Our work ethic is what sets us apart from other contractors. In Maestro, we work real closely with our clients to ensure a great job is produced to their satisfaction while also providing a solid craft that is meant to last. We maintain a 24/7 communication with our clients either via phone call, texts, emails, etc. Maestro is one of the most versatile groups out in the market. Able to provide service even to the most delicate or complicated of projects. Maestro Construction Services LLC strives to accomplish great crafts, we want our structures and crafts to be witnessed by future generations as a proven testament of our skills as we have a lot of pride in our work and are proud to be able to pass by these builds knowing our builds are Square, Level, and Plumb; Straight and True.

What is your favorite part of your job? New experiences in every project, Maestro Construction Services knows there is a thousand ways to build and we are open to every technique there is. With this, we learn to build more efficiently.

Words to Live By: “Measure twice, cut once, swear silently.”

Outside of the Job: We are really family oriented and do a variety of activities but mainly travel. We like to explore news places nearby (Restaurants, Bars, Theaters, Parks, etc.).

BMHBA PWB

What an incredible journey this has been!

Our PWB Room Refresh Project is officially complete, and it was an amazing success! Together, we transformed two Bismarck Cancer Center apartments into beautiful, comforting spaces for patients and their families to call home during treatment. This project was only possible because of the most amazing group of people! Our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and the countless businesses and individuals who gave their time, talent, and resources to make this vision a reality. From demo day to final décor touches, every moment was filled with teamwork, heart, and community spirit. We’re so proud of what we accomplished together.

From all of us at the Bismarck Mandan Professional Women in Building, thank you for being part of something truly special.

November is Spike Appreciation Month! Do you know what the SPIKE Club is?! This is NAHB’s most valuable tool for recruitment and retention. Plus, Spikes can take advantage of a variety of benefits that come because of your recruitment efforts. Each year, Spikes who have recruited at least one new builder and/or associate member receive two tickets to the Closing Spike Concert at the International Builders’ Show (IBS). In addition, Spikes, who have recruited at least five new builders and/or associate members receive an invitation to the VIP section at the concert where you can enjoy complimentary food and drinks. Please visit with me if you’re unsure of your Spike status or how to “join” the club!

We just held our fall events in Grand Forks on November 4-5. Our NDAB committees met at the Hilton and our premier event, the Annual Banquet, took place at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.
