President’s Message

Happy April, Everyone!

Construction season is just around the corner, and I hope you’re all geared up for a successful and productive year ahead. While interest rates and tariffs continue to be hot topics bringing a fair amount of uncertainty we’ve only seen minor impacts on the building industry so far. Inventory of homes for sale in the Bismarck-Mandan region remains relatively low, which is a positive sign of continued demand in our local housing market. This gives us plenty of reason to stay optimistic about the 2025 building season and beyond.

We wrapped up a fantastic Home Show in March at the Bismarck Event Center. Attendance was strong, and I hope you all received great feedback and promising leads. A big shoutout to the Home Show Committee for their incredible efforts in pulling off another outstanding event well done!

Looking ahead, our big highlight in April is the 33rd Annual Spring Parade of Homes, taking place Thursday, April 24th through Sunday, April 27th. We’re excited to feature 31 homes on this year’s tour. Best of luck as you put the finishing touches on your showcase homes I hope it brings you strong leads and new opportunities!

As always, let’s continue pushing forward with membership growth and support. Our association plays a vital role in the success of our local building industry, and it’s through our collective efforts that we thrive. Wishing you all a Happy Easter, and we’ll see you again in May!

Join the BMHBA in congratulating these longstanding members. Their dedication to the Bismarck-Mandan Home Builders Association is appreciated and truly valued.

The Area 10 Leadership Conference, which provides training uniquely designed to offer sessions that support the professional development of both member leaders and association staff, is almost here! The conference, held on April 16-17 in Des Moines, IA, will start off with “Build My Future” which is a hands-on career event where students can meet employers to try job-specific skills in careers in construction and more.

SkillsUSA is a student organization committed to building the skilled workforce our nation depends on. Invest your time in judging leadership or skills-based contests at the North Dakota State Leadership & Skills Conference on April 14th at Bismarck State College. This event showcases the best career and technical education (CTE) students. The philosophy is to reward students for excellence, involve the industry in directly evaluating student performance and to keep training relevant to employer needs.
