The Annual Fall Parade of Homes is upon us, and the BismarckMandan Home Builders Association is excited to celebrate 33 years of showcasing the hard work and our talent of BismarckMandan builders.

Our local builders are finishing up 24 homes for you to tour. We know you’ll enjoy these stunning examples of current interior and exterior design.

The Fall Parade of Homes runs Thursday, September 26 through Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Thursday, September 26 from 5pm-8pm Friday, September 27 from 5pm-8pm Saturday, September 28 from 11am-5pm Sunday, September 29 from 12pm-5pm

Tickets are $10 each and available for purchase online at bismanparade.com or by scanning the QR code on the front of this magazine. Once there, click on the “Buy Tickets” link. Show your ticket from your phone when you enter the parade house.

You may also purchase your tickets at any parade home on the route. Each parade ticket gives you access for all four days and is good for admission to all 24 homes. Children are FREE with adult admission.

After visiting your final Parade home, please complete the contact information on your printed ticket and drop it into a ballot box. You’ll be entered for a chance to win one of the two grand prizes: a $1,000 gift card from Carpet World, and a Riccar Vacuum valued at $1,599 from J&R Vacuum & Sewing. If you purchase a ticket online, you are automatically entered for the grand prize giveaway.

FALL PARADE OF HOMES How-to Guide

Whether you are new to the Parade of Homes or just have questions on how things work, you have come to the right place. This guide is meant to help you get the most out of your Parade experience.

Where do I buy tickets? Online tickets may be purchased on the Parade Smart App called BMHBA Parade or at bismanparade.com. Click on the “Buy Tickets” link. Tickets are also available ALL four days at any of the homes along the Parade route. Tickets are $10 for adults. Children 18 and under are free with adult admission. Since your ticket gets you into all the homes, make sure to hold on to it. It also serves as your entry for prizes. Please fill it out and leave your prize entry in the ticket box at any Parade home.

Prizes? Tell me more! All parade attendees are eligible to win two grand prizes. After visiting your final parade home, please complete the contact information on your printed ticket and drop it into a black ballot box located at each parade home. You will be entered for a chance to win one of the two grand prizes: a $1,000 gift card from Carpet World and a Riccar Radiance Vacuum valued at $1,599 from J&R Vacuum & Sewing. If you purchased a ticket online, you will be automatically entered for the grand prize giveaways.

Do I have to take my shoes off at each home? Yes, most builders require attendees to remove their shoes before entering the homes. Many builders also do not allow bare feet in their homes. Socks can be worn into the homes, but if you are not wearing socks you will be asked to wear shoe covers that are provided at each house.

Can I bring my children to tour the homes? Yes, but please make sure to keep an eye on them. Children love to run up and down the steps or in wide-open areas, which may be dangerous for them and others. Have fun and be respectful of the homes you are visiting.

Where do I park? Parade parking is on the street. Please do not block driveways. We recommend parking between multiple homes if possible so you can walk to the different homes.

What do the home prices include? The prices listed are the price to rebuild that home (including any upgrades, finished basements, etc.) on a comparably priced lot.

What does Undisclosed/Presold mean? If the home is missing a price and this statement appears it simply means that the house has been purchased and the new owner prefers not to disclose the price. Please ask the builder for more information.

Are all the homes for sale? Many of the homes are for sale, while others are Presold. If you are interested in a specific property, ask the builder/ representative if the home is available for purchase. We recommend that if you want to talk to the builder extensively about a home, you make an appointment.

In what order should I visit the homes? It is important to note that you do not have to visit the homes in numerical order. They are numbered based on neighborhoods for your convenience. If you are using the Parade Smart App you can access turn by turn directions or preplan your route.

Things to remember:

• Download our FREE app. Search “BMHBA Parade” in your app store.

• There is no food or drink allowed in the homes.

• Please do not take photos or videos inside the homes.

• No tape measures are allowed.

Bismarck-Mandan Professional Women in Building: A Year of Impact and Inspiration

The Bismarck-Mandan Professional Women in Building (PWB) have had an extraordinary year, marked by national recognition, community service, and meaningful events that continue to strengthen our organization and the local community.

We were incredibly proud to receive the NAHB Professional Women in Building Medium Council of the Year award. Being recognized among other outstanding PWB councils across the country is a true honor and a testament to the dedication of every member of our council. This award reflects the inspiring and talented women who make up our organization, and we couldn’t have achieved this without the amazing efforts of all.

In addition to this national honor, we hosted our first-ever speaker event featuring Jane Meagher of Success Strategies - Design Studio Consulting & Training. The event was attended by 50 local women. Jane shared invaluable insights that we hope every attendee took with them. The energy in the room was undeniable, leaving us inspired and motivated to take on new challenges.

Our commitment to the community remains at the forefront of everything we do. This past year, our PWB members volunteered to pack backpacks for the Bismarck-Mandan United Way Backpack Program, which ensures students in the area have food over the weekends. During the holiday season, our members came together for the “Making Spirits Bright” Giving Tree Donation. We wrapped gifts for local families in need. We also participated in the Spring Bismarck-

Mandan Home Show. Our members hosted the Kids Korner, where children had the chance to engage in fun DIY activities and took home swag bags full of goodies! In another show of community spirit, our PWB members volunteered at the Great Plains Food Bank and participated in United Way’s Annual Day of Caring. At the YMCA, we worked together to dig holes and set posts for new benches, creating an inviting outdoor space for campers. We also painted and moved furniture, helping to refresh the facility for everyone to enjoy. We sincerely thank everyone who generously gave their time, resources, and effort to volunteer.

As part of our mission to support the next generation of builders, we also awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving student pursuing a career in the building trades. We believe in the importance of supporting new talent and are proud to invest in the future of the industry.

This past year has been an incredible one, we had more opportunities to connect, learn, and give back. We are immensely grateful to all the women who continue to make PWB a thriving community. Your dedication to each other, industry, and our local area is remarkable. We look forward to continuing our mission of encouraging women and strengthening the Bismarck-Mandan community in the year ahead.
