President’s Message Welcome to our September Builder Buzz! Summer sure flew by fast and now we are making our transition into the fall schedule! Last month, we had ANOTHER successful BMHBA event with the 18th annual Clay Shoot at Capital City Sporting Clays. This event has really grown and become a great event for our members. Thank you to Capital City Sporting Clays for hosting us, to all our generous sponsors who donated to the event and to all of those who participated. September’s big event is of course the Fall Parade of Homes. Make sure to mark down on your calendar for the 33rd annual Fall Parade of Homes Thursday September 25th- Sunday ANDREW MELDAHL 28th. Come out and support your local builders and to those who have homes on showcase 2025 BMHBA PRESIDENT this year, I wish you all the best for a great weekend! Some other exciting news within our HBA, our very own PWB (Professional Women in Business) are in the process of starting their latest project, the “Room Refresh” at the Bismarck Cancer center. PWB members will be hard at work refreshing selected apartment units for those in need staying during their cancer treatments. This is a great example of our association coming together with our community for a wonderful cause. Great job ladies! As I always conclude, let’s keep striving to continue our growth in membership recruitment and support. Our association does many wonderful things for our building industry and our community. Let’s continue to grow and support one another! See you back next month!

Century 21 Morrison Realty Tricia Schlosser What is an interesting fact about your business that most people don’t know? We were recently honored by earning the Art Bartlett 2100 Cup by Century 21. This is a lifetime achievement award in the Century 21 system for emulating the spirit of the Brand. It is presented to a company that exemplifies the values of leadership, adaptability, brand loyalty, and most Importantly—meaningful community involvement. It is an honor to be nationally recognized for our service to our clients and communities. A day in Life: Each day is different, which I do enjoy. Most of my day consists of problem-solving with agents, clients, our managers, and staff and the rest of my time is focused on reading, planning, training, and educating myself so that I can keep our brokerage and agents at the cusp of the industry. If I weren’t in the Realtor business, I’d be … a geologist, a park ranger or get my law degree. Looking Ahead: Our ten-year goal is simple – to be the premier brokerage in each of the markets we serve. This means offering the very best to our clients and agents. Consistent quality service is the number one goal. The best service. The best representation. The best training. The best marketing. Our goal is to be the preferred place for consumers to seek out professional services and to grow their wealth by investing in the American Dream. And the preferred place for professional agents to grow personally and professionally. Why Real Estate: I was teaching middle school and had just finished my master’s in educational leadership. I was in a mental space of trying to decide what I wanted to be “when I grow up.” I wanted to be in an industry where I could directly control my income but still serve and work closely with people. At that time, Century 21 Morrison Realty was owned by my in-laws, and I heard a lot about real estate, so I decided to try it and fell in love with it. I have never looked back, and I am grateful to be here today in this industry. What Sets Us Apart: Our purpose statement, “Growing Relationships. Changing Lives.” is not a slogan. It is at the heart of everything we do, from agent development to client services. We deliver full-service support for serious professionals, and our agents are equipped with turnkey business solutions, hands-on administrative/broker assistance, and marketing assistance. Each agent is an individual business owner, and we assist them in wearing “all the hats” it takes to be successful. Finally, we lead with collaboration and teamwork, not competition. With a non-competing broker and full support staff, we offer more services to our agents and clients than any other brokerage in our marketplace. Our main competitor is who we were yesterday, and the focus is always on fostering a culture of shared success between clients, agents, and the brokerage.

What is your favorite part of your job? Discovering the unique needs of our clients and agents and assisting them in getting to a solution. Each day is different and challenging and I am always growing and empowering others to grow as well – I love that part! Words to Live By: The view out my office every single day is a big sign that reads, “Remember Why You Started.” It keeps me grounded in my “why” and reminds me to have gratitude for all that I have and for the incredible professionals I work with daily. Outside of the Job: I like to go rock hunting, mow my lawn, read, learn new things, and sit in my backyard with coffee or a bourbon and cigar.

On July 8th, we gathered at Prairie West in Mandan for our Annual Golf Tournament—and once again, the turnout was incredible! A huge THANK YOU goes out to our generous sponsors and every golfer, hole sponsor, and volunteer who made the day such a success. This is always one of our most anticipated events of the year, and it’s easy to see why. Whether you’re swinging a club, hosting a hole, or helping behind the scenes, it’s an event you won’t want to miss. We’re already looking forward to another great day on the greens next July! .

2025 Sporting Clay Shoot Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Sporting Clay Shoot! This event keeps growing year after year, and our amazing sponsors once again knocked it out of the park. We couldn’t bring opportunities like this to our members without your support!

HBA staff from across North Dakota recently attended the National Association of Home Builders Association Management Conference in Atlanta. The event brought together association professionals from across the country to network, share ideas, and explore the latest trends to help strengthen and grow our local associations. A special highlight: our very own NDAB State EO, Brittney Roehrich, was nominated and elected to the NAHB Executive Officers Council Board of Directors! She will officially be installed as a Director-at-Large in February 2026 during the International Builders Show (IBS) in Orlando.

Congratulations, Brittney, on this outstanding achievement!

The last week of July the North Dakota Association of Builders (NDAB) held a Build-Pac event that coincided with our annual Summer Social along with our summer board meetings in Minot, ND. Special Guest, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Assistant Vice President of Government Affairs & our Federal Lobbyist Heather Voorman attended and we were honored to have her come to ND from D.C.! Multiple directors, members, and staff attended this event from allover the state! Thank you to the Minot Association of Builders staff and directors for helping with this great event!

BMHBA PWB PWB Room Refresh Project: Growing Beyond Our Goal! What began as a simple idea has blossomed into something truly inspiring. The Bismarck-Mandan Professional Women in Building (PWB) set out with the goal of refreshing two patient bedrooms in one apartment at the Bismarck Cancer Center apartments. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity and support of our local and surrounding communities, that vision has now doubled and we are refreshing four bedrooms across two apartments. These apartments are a home-away-from-home for patients and families who travel to Bismarck for cancer treatment. Creating a warm, comfortable, and welcoming space is one way we can ease the challenges these individuals face during such a difficult time. The outpouring of encouragement, donations, and volunteerism from our members, partners, and community has made this expansion possible. Every contribution, big or small, has helped us move closer to our mission of providing comfort and care for those in need. If you would like to contribute, simply scan the QR code below to donate. Your support will go directly toward creating refreshed, inviting spaces for cancer patients and their families. With your help, we’ll finish strong this fall to make these apartments a place of rest, comfort, and healing.
