Dear Fellow Alumni, Families, and Friends of BMA,
As the world’s first ski academy, BMA has led the way for American ski racing for over fifty years. Since its earliest days, our school has depended on generous support from alumni and families to provide our students with the resources and programming necessary to chase their dreams.
Today, I share appreciation for each donor who made a gift to BMA in the 2023-2024 fiscal year. From continuing to meet the financial assistance needs of current students, to providing our faculty with essential resources for innovative teaching, to keeping up our campus here at the base of Burke Mountain, the school’s annual fund and capital fundraising goals are a critical component of BMA’s operating model.
This past spring, we launched Chasing Greatness: The Campaign to Win from Within, a comprehensive funding initiative that promises to reshape the financial foundation of BMA, adapt and respond to our rapidly evolving sport, and reaffirm our commitment to excellence in every aspect of our school. Thanks to incredible support, we have already raised $20 million toward our $30 million campaign goal. While we have more money to raise to secure the brightest future for BMA, I want to take this moment to express my deep gratitude to each trustee, alum, alumni parent, friend, and staff member who has stepped up for us through their generous financial commitment to Chasing Greatness

WHY DOES IT MATTER?
BMA’s Annual Fund is a collective gift to the school. Gifts are necessary because tuition alone does not cover the full cost of a student’s education at BMA; the Annual Fund plays a key role in bridging the gap. Every dollar contributed is reinvested to ensure our students and staff can thrive.
WHAT DOES THE ANNUAL FUND SUPPORT?
Students
Ensuring that every deserving and motivated student has the opportunity to attend BMA, no matter their financial means.
Training Assistance funds offset the costs of preseason camps and special training and race opportunities, helping to make participation possible for athletes.

Gifts to BMA’s Annual Fund range from $5 to $50,000, and every gift, big or small, makes a real difference for today's Burkies.
Purchases the plastic material for a CAD student’s 3-D project.
Covers bookbinding materials for the English 12 class.
of Burkies receive financial aid and/or training assistance funds.
Technology
Outfitting our teachers and classrooms with the technology and resources necessary to work with our students, whether they’re on campus or on snow.
Professional Development
Providing opportunities for coaches, faculty, and staff to enrich their knowledge and skills.
Campus

Venue at Burke Mountain
Maintaining the school’s 16 buildings at the base of Burke Mountain and ensuring that our athletes have optimized training opportunities on their home hill.
Funds a coach’s radio for on-hill coach-athlete communications.
Funds the annual Alumni Speaker Series.

CHASING GREATNESS: THE CAMPAIGN TO WIN FROM WITHIN
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our donors, the Chasing Greatness campaign is making remarkable strides. We’re proud to announce that we have raised $20 million of our $30 million goal and are on track to complete fundraising in 2025!
Early Impact: Strategic Initiatives Underway
Early support has already enabled two key developments:
New Training Base: Established in Sterzing, Italy, providing our athletes with dedicated winter training access in Europe.
Training Upgrades in the Ronnie Berlack Center: Implemented our first major reinvestment since 2017, introducing specialized equipment that creates eccentric load, better replicating the downforce and resistance experienced while skiing.
