Next year they will be somewhere else Senior portraits get treated like an errand — a yearbook headshot, forty minutes, done. That is not what this is. I have been photographing on this coastline since 2002, and a senior session is my favorite thing we do, because it is the only time I photograph someone at the exact moment they stop being a kid. They arrive nervous and certain they are not photogenic. They leave having seen themselves the way everyone else already does. So we style it properly. We bring in hair and makeup, we scout the light, we shoot two or three looks, and then we sit down together and design something that hangs in your house long after the dorm room is packed up. Not a folder of files. Something you will still love in twenty years.

We plan it with you A styling call before the session — outfits, colors, locations, and where these are going to hang. We build the look with you rather than asking you to arrive with one, and we file the City of Laguna Beach permit so nobody is negotiating with a ranger on the day.

We photograph at golden hour The coast, the coves, the cactus fields, downtown — whichever suits you. We direct every frame, so there is never a moment of standing there wondering what to do with your hands. Two to three outfit changes, and we photograph you the way a magazine would.

We design the artwork together Two weeks later we sit down and design what actually goes on the wall. You see the images large, in the room they are made for, before you decide anything — and we handle announcements while we are at it.

Albums come in two shapes at the same price — a square 10×10 or a landscape 12×9. We will help you choose the one your images want to live in. Session fee $300, booked separately and not applied to your collection. Individual pieces are available à la carte; seniors ordering separately spend an average of 16–20% more than the collection price.

It is also the practical answer to a family who cannot agree. The senior gets the editorial one. Mum gets the one on the sand. Weekends only, and a limited number each season — the afternoon belongs to one senior.
The styling is the part nobody expects to matter and everybody mentions afterwards. Having someone do your hair and makeup changes how you stand in front of a camera — and it is included here, not sold to you on the day.
