Senior Liz Fruechtnicht shares her love of photography

BY ABIGAIL TRACY Dreams require patience, hard work, time and thought. They cannot be obtained by simply waiting for it. Generally, dreams are most prevalent in teens. They start to grow and find themselves, beginning to have an idea of what they want their legacy to be. From there, it’s just about putting in the work to achieve it. One specific student is a prime example of this statement is senior Liz Fruechtnicht.

Liz Fruechtnicht is an inspiration to others around her, proving that dreams can really be achieved. Her love for photography has taken her on a journey of growth and success. Her story is not well known to many people, yet it is powerful and inspiring, the story of making her dreams come true.

“I want to show people how beautiful the world we live in is,” said Fruechtnicht.

Immersed into the world of social media platforms directed towards photography and aesthetically pleasing content, Fruechtnicht said she found herself wanting to create her own content that “gave off good vibes.”

She began teaching herself the ins and outs of photography. She learned how to work different types of cameras through YouTube videos, articles other photographers.

After years of practicing, experimenting and taking lots of pictures, Fruechtnicht discovered her style and began narrowing her focus.

“I really like to take adventure/nature photography,” Fruechtnicht said. “This includes travel, hiking and rock climbing.”

A natural and earthy look are the perfect ingredients to allow Fruechtnicht ‘s creativity to flow, locking he into the environment around her as she captures the beauty of the world.

Fruechtnicht’s junior year marked the expansion of her profile. She began building her platform and started doing professional shoots. Between senior photos, family pictures and a few business gigs, Fruechtnicht has created her own business, Elizabeth Ann Photography. "I do consider myself a freelance photographer,” Fruechtnicht said.

nicht is able to run her own business and do what she loves the most.

She plans on continuing to build her experience and learn more about the world of photography. With her recent acceptance to a gap year program called “seamester,” run by global expeditions, she will live on a sailboat and travel to several countries in the Mediterranean and Carribean. While learning how to work and pilot the boat. On her voyage, she will have endless opportunities to capture the beauty of the world.

“I’m hoping that during this experience I can expand my adventure photography portfolio,” Fruechtnicht said.

After her adventurous gap year, Fruechtnicht plans on attending Flagler College in Florida to major in media production and minor in film production. Her ultimate goal is to remain a freelance photographer and travel.

To achieve a dream like Fruechtnicht, it takes effort. She is putting in the work it takes to live out each of her dreams. Fruechtnicht continues to believe in her work and her passion, taking it one step at a time.

“There is so much more to explore and achieve out there, I am ready for every twist and turn this journey takes me,” Fruechtnicht said.
