1. 15 - 30 MINUTES PER DAY DO I HAVE TO POST EVERY DAY? 2. NO!
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD MY CAMPAIGN SPEND ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
HOW CAN I EXPAND MY SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWING? 3. VIDEOS POSTED TO REELS
VIDEO IS KING
Short-form video is the most engaging social media content, and as a result, every social media platform prioritizes video content.
Videos should be the majority of your content.
Don’t feel you need to post multiple times a day or everyday.
Aim to post three to five times per week, with three of those posts should be video.
The best-performing content currently is a relatable, straight-to-camera video in which a candidate spends 60 to 90 seconds discussing a current issue and providing details on how and why it impacts voters.
NOTE — Don’t use a $10 word when you can use a $5 word.
Keep it simple. You can get started with short-form video with nothing more than your smartphone, a tripod, good lighting, and a simple (but not sterile — this isn’t a hostage video!) backdrop in your home or local park.
When filming outdoors, morning or late afternoon offers the best natural light .
It’s OK to show emotion. Get angry or excited, use humor when warranted, and show your audience you care about the issues impacting them.
Add burned-in or open captions to everything!
As many as 85% of social media users watch videos on mute, and 30% are watching at 1.5- to 2-times speed, so don’t rely on autogenerated captions. Burned-in captions allow you to reach a broader audience — but make sure your captions are correct.
