My name is Alisha Lynas and I am the Head of Service for our looked after children and resources which includes our children’s homes, our fostering service and our keeping families together team.

• I have been a Social Worker for 13 years and have always enjoyed working with children and young people.

• I have a daughter who is 6 years old and I’m a foster carer to a young person.

• I’m an Auntie to my 5 year old niece who I love spending time with.

• I have two dogs – a spaniel called Daisy and a dachshund called Peanut.

• I like spending time with my friends and family.

I feel happy when I’m spending time with my friends and family. I feel happy at work because I love my job. I am especially happy when I get to meet with the children and young people I work with.

We all feel sad sometimes but when I feel sad I try to remember it’s just for a moment and another day will feel better

• I want to be the best Head of Service I can be and I want our children to tell us how we can be better.

• I want our children to live with their families where they can and if they can’t I want to offer them the best quality care.

• I want our children to have an excellent Social Worker and/or Personal Advisor who knows them, supports them and is their voice.

• I want the children who live in our homes to be well looked after and be involved in making it their home.

• I want to make sure our foster carers feel valued and to encourage more people to think about fostering as I know how amazing being a foster carer is.

• I want those who work in my area to feel valued, celebrated and happy in their roles. I want them to tell me how we can make work better for them.
