The Board of Studies meeting for B.Com (Banking and Insurance) for the academic year 2019 – 20 Odd Semester was held on 22-05-2019 at 02.30 pm in the Board Room. The I & II semester syllabi for the 2019 - 22 batch students, which were framed on the basis of Outcome Based Education (OBE), were discussed and finalised.

Department of BBA Value Added Course on “Trade and Commercial Terms” ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a Value Added Course on “Trade and Commercial Terms” on 12.06.2019. The Resource Person Dr.Thomas, Faculty, CII – Institute of Logistics,
Chennai, taught different trade and commercial terms related to logistics and shipping to the students. This would serve as a platform for their fruitful career in the area of logistics and shipping.
Value Added Course on “Trade Routes and Shipping Overview” ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a Value Added Course on “Trade Routes and Shipping Overview” on 13.06.2019. The Resource Person Dr.Vallinayagam, Faculty, CII – Institute of Logistics, Chennai, highlighted the various challenges and opportunities available in the trade routes. Recent trends and developments in the field of shipping were also emphasized. 2
Department of Computer Science Orientation Program Report The Department of CS conducted an orientation programme for the II B.Sc CS (SSS) & III B.Sc CS students on 01.06.2019 at 11.10 AM in the Seminar Hall. The HoD Mrs.N.Anuradha introduced the subjects and faculty in-charges to the students.

Orientation Program Report The Department of CS conducted an orientation programme on 02.07.2019 at 08.00 am in the Seminar Hall for the I B.Sc CS (SSS) ‘A’ & ‘B’ students. The HoD Mrs.N.Anuradha introduced the subjects and faculty incharges to the freshers. Senior students from the department An Association member addressing the A I year student clarifying her doubts gathering oriented the I year students with the facilities and opportunities available in the department. The Association members spoke of the Technofest Association and the roles & responsibilities of the association members.
Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management National Conference on Emerging Techniques in Food Processing Students (twenty-one) from the Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management participated in a National Conference, “Emerging Techniques in Food Processing” organized by IIFPT at Tanjore, on 27.06.2019 & 28.06.2019. The Resource Persons from various countries effectively delivered their speeches covering various subjects from the latest equipments to the current techniques used in Food Processing. They also suggested several Entrepreneurial ventures which would highly benefit the students. 3
Staff Article Let Me Tell You a Secret Is there anyone in the world without the feeling of stress? I DON’T THINK THERE IS ANY. Stress is a conscious or unconscious psychological feeling of physical or mental anxiety that disturbs our day to day activity. Stress may cause depression and it is even said to reduce immunity .Still worse its higher coefficient can lead to heart diseases, high blood pressure, strokes and so on. Oh my God! It looks as though Stress is one of the top most challenges one faces in life. Wait a minute and take a deep breath, let me take charge of the situation and tell you a secret. The secret pass away phrase is “Read to Relax”. Reading is found to be a better stress reliever than many relaxation methods such as having a sip of coffee / giving ear to music (54 percent stress relieving), or pacing your feet at a leisurely walk (42 percent stress relieving). A 2009 study by the University of Sussex found that reading for as little as six minutes could reduce stress levels up to 68 percent. You just have to choose the right book / novel that will drag you to turn its pages – not a magazine or a daily which will cut short your reading. Sit in a relaxed position. Try to lose your mind and heart to the heart of the new world (book). Make it a point to forget your cell phone. Your body will begin to relax and it will lower your heart rate and ease you of all tension in your muscles. Reading swipes one off reality but in reality it will have a positive impact on almost every aspect of one’s life. The hard part is getting started. It is worth investing in a book rather than wasting on pills. So let your hand hold a book rather than a medical prescription. NSS Unit - 105 சர்வதேச ய�ோகா தினம் மதுரை – அருப்புக்கோட்டை ர�ோடு சுப்பலெக்ஷ்மி லெக்ஷ்மிபதி அறிவியல் கல்லூரியில் நாட்டு நலப்பணித் திட்டம் சார்பில் சர்வதேச ய�ோகா தினம் 21.06.2019 அன்று க�ொண்டாடப்பட்டது. கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர் இராமமூர்த்தி அவர்கள் ய�ோகாவின் சிறிப்புகள் குறித்து தலைமை உரையாற்றினார். மூனைவர் ஆர்.எல்.ராம்நாத் அவர்கள் ய�ோகாவின், பயன்கள் குறித்துச் சிறப்புரையாற்றினார்.விவேகானந்த கல்லூரியை சக�ோதரர் கார்த்திகேயா அனைத்து மாணவர்களுக்கும் ய�ோகா பயிற்சிகளை அளித்தார். 1.காலைப்பிரிவில் இரண்டாமாண்டு மாணவ/மாணவிகளுக்கு 09.00 மணி முதல் 09.40 மணி வரை ய�ோகா பயிற்சி நடைபெற்றது. 2.காலைப்பிரிவில் மூன்றாமாண்டு மாணவ/மாணவிகளுக்கு 10.55 மணி முதல் 11.45 மணி வரை ய�ோகா பயிற்சி நடைபெற்றது. 3.பிற்பகல் பிரிவில் இரண்டாமாண்டு மாணவ/மாணவிகளுக்கு 03.10 மணி முதல் 04.00 மணி வரை ய�ோகா பயிற்சி நடைபெற்றது. 4.பிற்பகல் பிரிவில் மூன்றாமாண்டு மாணவ/மாணவிகளுக்கு 04.30 மணி முதல் 05.10 மணி வரை ய�ோகா பயிற்சி நடைபெற்றது.
