Department of BBA Orientation Program 2019 Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science conducted an Orientation Meeting for the first year students on 01.07.2019 (Monday), Around 350 Ist year students along with their parents attended the meeting. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal presided over the function. In his presidential address, he highlighted the importance of higher education and exhorted the students to work hard for their development. Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he stressed that discipline alone can give strength and strength alone can give life. Dr.R.L.Ramnath, Advisor, in his felicitation address insisted that the parents must motivate their wards. He also reminded the students that they can reach any height, if they follow the advise of parents and teachers. All the Heads of the departments spoke on their Department’s profile, Placement activities and infrastructure available in the college, and elaborated on the college, exam, hostel and library rules to the 2
Extension Activity ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an extension activity at Government Kallar Higher Secondary School, K.Puliyankulam, Madurai District on 15.07.2019. Students were sensitized on the latest social issues and effective means of tackling it. The 116th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister and freedom fighter K.Kamaraj was also celebrated. Students were motivated to participate in various activities like debate, elocution, essay writing, poem writing and skit. Prizes were distributed to the winners. This helped in boosting their self confidence and esteem.
Exposure Visit to “SNP Dairy Unit” ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an Exposure Visit to SNP Dairy Unit on 29.06.2019. The Logistics and Supply Chain operations related to the procurement of raw milk, supply of milk packets and the related byproducts were explained in detail. The students also witnessed the production process. The visit was informative and very useful for the students.
Department of Animation Bridge Course - 2019 The Department of Animation conducted a Bridge course for its first year Animation students (Academic year 2019-22), from July 2, 2019 to July 6, 2019. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu – HoD, Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar – Coordinator, Mr.M.Purushothaman, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim - Instructors conducted the classes. The students were oriented about the course & program outcomes, components of subjects, syllabus, examination pattern, leave rules (day scholar and hosteller) and rules & regulations to be followed inside the class room & lab premises. Technical terminologies were also explained to the students.

Campus Recruitment Drive The Department of Animation, organised a Campus Recruitment Drive for the final year students (Batch 201720) on 08.07.2019 & 09.07.2019. 2AdPro, Chennai, a Multi National Company conducted the placement tests. Mr.Nirmal, HR Manager & Mr.Ramesh Dhanasekaran, Head, Training Division, conducted the interviews. Twenty seven (27) students were selected. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, HoD, Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator and Faculty members Mr.M.Purusothaman, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar and Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim made the necessary arrangements.

Department of MC & HM Bridge Course - 2019 The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized a bridge course for its first year students from 02.07.2019 to 04.07.2019. Mr.C.Sureshkumar, Head of the Department addressed the students and informed the rules & regulations, department discipline, academic details, syllabus, lesson plan, attendance and department activites for the academic year 2019. He also introduced the faculty members. He handed over the bridge course manual, lesson plan, time table, and attendance log sheet to the class representative. The respective staff members conducted their bridge course according to the schedule given by the Head of the Department.
Department of Networking Association Meet 2019 On 27th July 2019, the Department of Networking organized “Net Kings”-Association Meet 2019 for the networking students. The session started with the prayer song. The welcome speech was given by Lakshmipriya - II B.SC Networking. The chief guest Mr. B.Nagkumar, Managing Director, Devspark, Hyderabad, spoke of the current technology prevailing in the networking field. Mr. M. Athigopal, Head of Department, welcomed the guest and gave an introduction about the Association Meet 2019. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Poornasundaresan of II B.SC Networking which culminated in the successful completion of the meet.

Infotainment – 2019 The Department of Networking conducted ‘Infotainment Meet’ on 18.07.2019. It was organized by the III Year B.Sc Networking students. The session started with the prayer song followed by the welcome address 4
by Mr B. Baskaran of I B.Sc Networking. The Principal, Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, inaugurated the meet and the Head of the Department, Mr.M.Athigopal addressed the gathering. The students of IInd & IIIrd year B.Sc.Networking conducted various game events for the 1st Year students and rewarded the winners. The vote of thanks was given by Ms.Poorna Sundaresan of II B.Sc Networking and the meet concluded with the National Anthem.

IQAC Report on Workshop conducted by IQAC – SLCS The college IQAC Cell organized a workshop on Outcome Based Education on 06.07.2019. IQAC Advisor Dr.R.L.Ramnath welcomed the gathering. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal, introduced the Chief Guest, Dr.K.Karthikeyan, Dean & Controller of Examination, Vivekananda College,Thiruvedakam. The chief guest urged the faculty to visit MHRD, NAAC and NIRF websites in order to be aware of the latest news in terms of higher education. He briefed the UGC schemes available for academicians and elaborated the General Accreditation framework with regard to technology & value systems.
