Department Of Marine Catering And Hotel Management “Campus Placement Drive” – Hotel Sangam The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized a Campus Placement Drive on 19.4.2018, for all the third year students. Mr. R. Kapilan, Corporate Training Manager and Mr. Raghu, Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Service, Sangu Chakra Hotel Private Limited (Hotel Sangam), Trichy were visited our college campus to conduct their selection process. The students were selected based on Written Examination, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Mr. C. Sureshkumar, Head, Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management, gave the welcome address and introduced the Chief Guests (Recruiters). Six candidates were selected for the final round (Food Trial).

“Campus Placement Drive” – Hotel Germanus The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized a Campus Placement Drive on 20.4.2018. Around 20 final year students attended the Campus Placement Drive. Mr. V. Rajahramman, HR Manager, Hotel Germanus, Madurai, conducted the campus drive. The selection was based on Written Examination, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Mr. C. Sureshkumar, Head, Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management, welcomed and introduced the Chief Guest. Almost, all the candidates were selected for the final round. The final Personal Interview will be conducted at a later date by the General Manager of Hotel Germanus, Madurai.

Department Of Animation Oviyam & Animation Workshop-2018 A Career Guidance Program, “Oviyam & Animation Workshop, 2018” was organized by the Department of Animation, SLCS and DINAMALAR for the +2 students. The objective of the program was to train the students to get knowledge about Animation, Drawing, Sculpting concepts and to make them realize their importance in Industries. The Program was presided over by Dr. P.Saravanan, Principal, SLCS and was felicitated by Dr.K.Archunan, Vice Principal, SLCS. It was a two day program (18th & 19th April 2018) which involved the active participation of students in creating drawings and paintings as performed by the guest artists, namely, Mr. S. Sivabalan, M.F.A., Watercolor Artist and Mr. Ilayaraja, M.F.A., Freelancing Artist, Chennai. Students used the Animation Lab facilities to create their own animation movies as directed and

coordinated by Mr. P.Kishore Kumar, Instructor, in 3D Animation techniques. Mr.N.Naveendra Kumar, Instructor, explained 2D Animation concepts and Mr. M. Purushothaman, Instructor, gave a demo on VFX techniques (Green Matte shots) to the students and parents.

Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator of the Animation Department, played a key role in all arrangements.

Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Animation-HoD gave a great speech on the growth aspects of the Animation Industry and also proposed the vote of thanks. Participation Certificates were distributed to all the students.

The participants greatly benefited from and thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and gave a positive feedback about the program. The program was useful in bringing out the creative skills of the participants.
