National Seminar The Department of Visual Communication organized a “National Seminar on Recent Trends in Media� on Monday, Dec18, 2017. This seminar highlighted the challenges, advantages and current trends in the media. Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal, SLCS, delivered the presidential address.

Dr.K.Karnamaharajan Head-CFEMS, MKU and Mr.Danapal, Dy.Chief Manager & Metro Sub-Office Head, Times of India, Madurai were chief guests for the seminar.

Export Summit An Export Summit was organized at Madurai Chamber of Commerce on 16.12.2017.

Ten eminent personalities participated as Resource persons and delivered lectures. The program was a great learning experience for the students of BBA Department.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO “St. JOHN FREIGHT STATION”, Tuticorin An Industrial visit was organized for the students of BBA Department on 15.12.2017 to St. John Freight Station, Tuticorin . St. John Freight Station is the authorized customs clearing agent at Tuticorin Port. They are one of the leaders in Logistics & Shipping Industry. The staff explained in detail about the basic logistics and shipping procedures. The students had a great session of practical learning.

Career Counseling Program The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized Career Counseling Program on 09.12.2017. All the second year students of MC&HM participated in this career counseling programme.

by Mr.C.Sureshkumar, Head, Dept. of MC&HM, who also gave the welcome address. Mr. Sandip Chothe, Training Manager, Fleet Management, Mumbai, was the Resource Person. He spoke about the shipping industry, the unique nature of the job, different types of skills required in the ship and the process of getting jobs in the ship through Power Point presentations.

Students gained a lot of insight from this program.

Our Alumi (B.Sc CS- Batch:2008-2011) Mr.S.R.Karthikeyan, Logistic Executive, Chennai and Mr.A.Zohaeb , Assistant Manager (Marketing), Franchise India, Chennai visited our department on 6-12-2017 and interacted with the II year B.Sc CS and IT students and shared their old memories and gave valuable information on placement opportunities in Chennai. It was great exposure for our students who were able to clarify their doubts .
