We are a force for positive change, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Black individuals and minority-led businesses and artists in our region.
OurMission
The Black Resiliency Project aims to empower communities in Northern California by providing culturally responsive and harm reduction services. Our mission is to uplift marginalized voices, foster resilience, and promote holistic well-being through equitydriven programs tailored to meet the unique needs of our community.
OurVision
The Black Resiliency Project empowers and uplifts communities by providing culturally responsive services, fostering resilience, and equipping individuals to thrive while advocating for equity and holistic well-being.

Ashared responsability
Community challenges are not isolated to the home but can impact every aspect of a child’s life: education, health, and the environment, to name a few. That is why, nearly 5 years ago, we knew we needed to create a space to come together to discuss concerns, community conflict, resources, and solutions. This year we have had the pleasure of working with Upstate Creative Corps, United Way, Healthy Community Collaborative, and other Community-Based Organizations.
Leading the Change

Addressing the adversity and trauma that so many of our families face during their lives requires various elements of social change. Our families are ready. We simply need the tools, space, and knowledge to know how to advocate for their communities.

OurExternalImpact
"Our impact extends beyond what can always be quantified; however, here is what we have captured thus far. We are now embarking on the critical work of measuring how our efforts influence life expectancy, recognizing the profound importance of this metric in assessing our long-term impact."

MakinganInternalImpact
Our organization's next strategic initiative involves the implementation of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This vital step is designed to enhance our capacity to provide seamless support to our valued customers while facilitating the efficient reporting of critical data on our impact to our partners.
In addition to the CRM implementation, we began to institute a rigorous measurement of effectiveness by administering and thoroughly analyzing retrospective survey responses. These surveys serve as invaluable tools, yielding crucial information and actionable data. They enable us to collaborate with schools and districts, fostering ongoing learning and facilitating the enhancement of our collective efforts. We also utilize the leadership of our board and our Youth Steering committee.
Pavingthe Path Forward

Since our inception, we have remained steadfast at the forefront of BIPOC community engagement in Northern California, providing invaluable assistance to individuals, families, groups, and businesses alike. Throughout our history, we have consistently served as a source of information and support, empowering our community. With our board, team members, and community partners we are excited to expand the ways we serve.
In 2024, we will launch our Resiliency Hub App, a groundbreaking platform that will serve as a hub for valuable resources, a showcase for artists and minority-led businesses and organizations, and a channel for meaningful civic engagement. This innovative app will be seamlessly integrated with both our print and digital magazine.
Beyond spotlighting minority-owned businesses, the app will also feature those operating with a commitment to equity, and we will recognize leaders in equity through the prestigious "Equity Seal." This multifaceted initiative represents a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to fostering inclusivity and empowerment within our community.
