MEDIA LOOKBOOK A N O M A LY USA

WE’VE NEVER CARED MUCH FOR COLORING BETWEEN THE LINES. We believe that skiing, like life, is far more rewarding when you find your own line. We’ve found our line in Mittersill, Austria, specifically designing ripping skis to give skiers like you the tools to leave your mark wherever you damn well choose. But the path that got us here hasn’t always been clear. In order to get something right, sometimes you need to get it wrong a few times first. Other times, though, all it takes is a brilliant mind like that of Arne Backstrom to say something as simple as, “Why don’t we flip it upside-down?” It is not an overstatement to say that FlipCore changed everything for Blizzard. Arne’s idea to flip the woodcore prior to pressing the ski did completely change the way those skis feel. Pressing skis with the core “upside-down” essentially means the core is closer to its final rockered shape prior to being pressed, allowing for a much smoother and more balanced flex throughout the ski. But beyond that, what FlipCore really did was set a precedent for how all Blizzard skis would be designed from there on out.

“SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED”

No idea is too far out, nor too simple. FlipCore was the launch pad, and each project that followed helped to define Blizzard as a brand that creates specifically designed products to suit the needs of the individual skier. This year comes with another leep of faith, one that involves putting to bed a collection of skis that have defined who we are, in order to usher in a new one that will define who we will become. In the trees, on the frontside, or in the backcountry - From top to bottom, Blizzard skis are specifically designed for fun. So go ahead and color wherever you want. Be an Anomaly. Welcome to the next chapter.

SINCE 1945

YOU ARE AN ANOMALY. You separate yourself from the herd by letting your actions speak louder than your words. You ski the entire mountain from dawn to dusk and still come back hungry for more. You’re No Ordinary skier, and for you we’ve built No Ordinary Ski, designed to give you the confidence to find your own line, be your own person, and most importantly, chase the kind of gravity-defying, face-melting fun you can only find on a pair of skis. You don’t need another “all-mountain” ski – You need an Anomaly.

ANOMALY 102

ANOMALY 94

Let’s face it: Not every day is a powder day. We’ve always been just fine with that, and that’s exactly when the Anomaly 94 comes to life. A wolf in sheep’s clothing, the 94 is narrow enough to rail groomers but still packs enough to get it done anywhere on the hill, with a redesigned Trueblend woodcore and all-new FluxForm All-Mountain metal layup. An all-mountain ski by definition, but an Anomaly by experience – The Anomaly 94 is No Ordinary ride.

Designed to make 4 turns where everyone else made 40, the Anomaly 102 was built specifically for those who crave speed and don’t give a damn what the snow is like. Two sheets of Titanal in an allnew FluxForm All-Mountain layup beg you to open it up, while the TrueBlend woodcore and re-imagined rocker profile give you the versatility and confidence to shut it down when things get rowdy. If it’s No Ordinary Rush you need, the Anomaly 102 provides.

ANOMALY 84

The Anomaly 84 is everything you think it isn’t. With a re-imagined shape, Trueblend Woodcore and an all-new FluxForm All-Mountain metal lay-up, this ski is anything but ordinary. It’s fast, it’s fun, it knows no bounds, and neither will you. Whether you’re sparking arcs on fresh corduroy or pushing it offpiste, the Anomaly 84 makes for No Ordinary turn that will leave a smile burnt on your face from bell to bell.

Born to defy the ordinary, the Anomaly 88 is the ski you reach for when the day is shaping up to be anything but. Packing a redesigned Trueblend woodcore and allnew FluxForm All-Mountain metal layup, the 88 is just as at home devouring groomers as it is smashing bumps or disappearing into the woods on a pow day. On an Anomaly 88, there is No Ordinary day.

THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS Meant to be an Anomaly from start to finish, the graphics themselves are a part of the story. Those small, faint white lines represent everyone else - The white sheep in the herd, falling in line. The bold white track across the entire topsheet is the Anomaly skier - The person who views the mountain differently. They’re the black sheep, not afraid to diverge from the norm and make their own mark. Afterall, that’s exactly why you’d pick a ski like this off the wall in the first place. Be an Anomaly.

NEW ROCKER-CAMBER PROFILE New Anomaly

ALL MOUNTAIN Using what we learned from the success of Fluxform Technology in the Rustler and Sheeva freeride collections, we have developed an all new execution of Fluxform specifically designed to maximize true All Mountain confidence. Two full sheets of Titanal are broken into three layers, allowing for the top layers to sheer slightly within the ski. This reduces tortional rigidity so you can come in and out of turns with ease, all while maintaining that super stable, damp feeling from tip to tail. The result is a ski that does right by Blizzard’s heritage of horsepower, but isn’t going to bully you off the mountain. So go ahead and step on it, but feel confident that you will be able to shut it down when you need to. Afterall, a racecar is only as good as it’s brakes, and confidence is key.

Anomaly brings to the table an increased and 10 mm more progressive rocker profile in the tip and tail, for ease of turn initiation and improved versatility in all conditions. With a slightly shorter on-snow contact length but increased camber height, Anomaly provides improved 8 mm power and stability at speed and generates more energy out of turns without sacraficing on versatility or intuitiveness.

A new metal layup and rocker profile brought the need to refine the Trueblend woodcore at the heart of the ski. Stringers of dense Beech wood are concentrated underfoot to provide plenty of power and stability where you need it, yet taper towards the tip and tail among softer Poplar wood. The result is a woodcore that is specifically designed to be strongest underfoot and get progressively softer towards the ends of the ski to perfectly match the rocker profile and Fluxform metal layup for a smooth, balanced flex. The concept of “Specifically Designed” is our North Star, and our Trueblend wood cores are the epitome. Because the layout of the stringers is specific to each size, the cores cannot simpy be cut to length, but rather are designed specifically for every size of every model. Every ski has it’s own specific core, fine tuned to optimize the performance of that one ski for that one skier.
