Your wedding invitations are your guests’ first peek into your wedding day, so you want to make them remarkable. Along with listing the location and time of day, the invitation hints at your wedding’s formality and style. Before you start searching for stationery, you should have an idea of the type of event you’re throwing- classic and elegant, casual and relaxed, or glamorous and modern before you start searching for stationery.
Think about your wedding colors and incorporate them into your wedding invitations and the rest of your wedding paper, such as escort cards, menus, and ceremony programs for an adhesive look. As you consider colors and patterns, be sure to think about shape, size, and text. Be wary of hard to read fonts and colors that blend into the background.
You will not need an invitation for every guest. Take a look at your guest list and figure out how many households need invitations before you give your stationer a number, as you may be able to cut your order in half. Be sure to order enough invitations for your guest list plus 25 extra if you need to resend an invitation or want some for keepsakes.
Remember to order your menus, programs, RSVP cards, and thank you notes with your invitations. This way, you can include all pieces in one order and save time and money. It’s also an efficient way to ensure your stationery has a cohesive look.

We know you’re crazy busy choosing invitations, florists, bridesmaid dresses, and a honeymoon location, but don’t neglect one of the most important tasks of all- getting yourself looking and feeling great! More pictures will be taken of you on your wedding day than any other day of your life. So, how do you ensure you’ll be at your absolute best? First, keep in mind that how you look on your wedding day begins before that morning. Trust us, the results will be well worth it- plus taking a break from all those to-dos for a workout, or some pre-wedding pampering will help keep you sane.
If you’re not much of a makeup person, and even if you are, and no matter how good you are, if you can fit it into your budget, you should hire a professional makeup artist and hairstylist for your wedding day. The best part... we have done the hard work for you and compiled the best in the area!
TRIAL RUNS Once you’ve booked your beauty professionals, schedule at least one trial run for wedding-day hair and/or makeup to test out different possibilities. Many professionals will charge a trial-run fee and then a separate wedding-day fee. Others will charge one price upfront and include a free trial run as part of the package. During your trial session, you will experiment with different hair and makeup looks. Before you arrive, gather pictures from magazines and social media to show the artist. Be sure to bring your earrings, veil, and headpiece to decide how they’ll fit with your look!
For “picture perfect” hair, never wash your hair the morning of your ceremony. Hair that has been washed at least 24 hours prior holds form of the style and prevents hair from going flat.
