SOUTH PACIFIC WEDNESDAY 16 MAY 11AM

Take a step back in time and enjoy this 1958 classic based on the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical of the same name. Nurse Nellie Forbush (Mitzi Gaynor) of the U.S. Navy falls for middle-aged French plantation owner Emile De Becque (Rossano Brazzi), but recoils upon discovering that he’s fathered two mixed-race children. When Nellie leaves him, the heartbroken Emile agrees to take on a dangerous espionage mission.

This play is an epic, funny, madcap adaptation of the classic novel by Jules Verne.

Set in 1872, the story opens with a bank robbery, and then follows Phileas Fogg and his newly acquired valet, Mr Passepartout on their adventure as they attempt to travel the world in 80 days, all the while being pursued by Scotland Yard.
