Pool cool? Not so says manager
By Adam Poulopoulos A Marlborough parent says she has taken her daughter out of swimming lessons for the winter due to draughty, cold conditions at Marlborough Lines Stadium 2000. Leah Rendle takes her two-and-a-half year-old daughter to lessons, but says the draught her daughter feels by the paddling pool after her lessons is severe. She says she experiences a similar problem in the family changing room, where her daughter’s lips have turned blue because of the cold. Leah says the water temperature could be warmer too. “They’re (the pools) not particularly warm, but it’s all right and you get used to it. “We go to the aquatic centre over in Richmond and it’s nice and toasty-warm.” Another woman, who declined to be named, says she has used the stadium’s two-metre-deep sports pool for about a year due to arthritis. HAPPY: Ben Mapp, 9, and Sarah Mapp, 8, before their swimming lesson at Stadium 2000 yesterday.
