15 months young, Amelie Boyce’s smile and cheeky demeanour suggests what’s all the fuss been about? At four weeks of age, ‘Millie’ had open heart surgery at Auckland’s Starship Hospital. A 20 week scan for Mum Chloe discovered Amelie had two large holes in her heart - an ASD (atrial septal defect) a hole in the wall between the heart’s upper chambers, and also a VSD (ventricular septal defect) a hole in the wall between the lower chambers.
