Georgie arrives New Year By Chris Valli

As many Marlburians celebrated New Year’s with friends and families, one Waikawa Bay family celebrated bringing new life into 2023 on January 1. Georgie Josephine Smith de Lambert arrived weighing a healthy 6.4 pounds. Mother Phoebe de Lambert says Georgie was expected to arrive December 31 but after an eight hour labour, made her presence felt with gusto to see in the New Year. Continued on page 2. PROUD MUM: Phoebe de Lambert holds Georgie Josephine Smith de Lambert at Karaka Point. Georgie was the first baby born in Marlborough in 2023 arriving January 1.
