Water ban frustrating

School shuts down water fountains By Jacob Page Renwick resident Kayetrina Taylor says it is an embarrassment the Marlborough District Council has forced the towns’ residents into such extreme water conservation measures because they have refused to improve the infrastructure. The town has been down to just one of its

three pumps for the past two days, as the second pump continues to pump dirty water from recent rainfall. A total ban on all garden irrigation is in place and the Marlborough District Council has warned residents about the potential need to boil all water if they do not conserve it. Continued page 2

In an effort to help Renwick’s water woes, Renwick School has shut off its drinking fountains and asked kids to bring a full drink bottle from home. Pictured are pupils (from left) Logan Winter, Mieke de Bruyn, Ashleigh Le Brun, Sophia Hansen and Naya Cook.
