By Les Whiteside The Post Primary Teachers Assn of Marlborough Boys’ College have misgivings on the proposed two schools on one site. At a meeting on Monday night the PPTA invited, by invitation only, a group of Marlborough people to discuss the lack of information forthcoming from the Education Ministry. PPTA spokesperson and teacher Ngaire Searle said the government says we have three options, but she said the option of $51.5 million to build two new schools on one site doesn’t give us any specifics. “How can we agree to this when the ministry cannot tell us how big the school will be and which facilities we will have? We know there will be no swimming pool.” Ngaire also said the proposed open plan for teaching will not work. “How can I teach my class when right next to us we have another class with no walls between us?” Continued page 2.
