BLDM is a specialty contractor offering integrated construction services in a variety of areas such as mechanical, power, water, and telecommunications.

During our decades-long history, we have contributed to the development of Puerto Rico’s and the Caribbean’s infrastructure with projects ranging from housing, hotels, transportation, manufacturing, and many others.

More than half a century has passed since our founding partners decided to embark on this great journey. Everything BLDM has accomplished during all these years deserves to be acknowledged and celebrated.

After these challenging years, we are now in a place in which we need to embrace the opportunity to keep growing and expanding to build a brighter future. It is essential to focus on our expansion plans of sustainability.

We are focused on the evolution of Linc Services, and Telecommunication Services and pursuing new opportunities in South Florida, and USVI.

A HISTORY OF SUCCESS

To be an innovative company with superior capacity to adapt to new environments, diversify our services and promote a firstclass infrastructure. Juan J. Bermudez and Adriel Longo, electrical engineers, met in the early 1960’s while working together for a large foreigner Electrical contractor in Puerto Rico. In 1962, they decided to venture into their own construction business 100% based on the island.

The company originally specialized in the electrical construction of housing projects but as the demand increased and expanded, commercial projects were carried out. In the mid 70’s the company also began to work in industrial facilities, and the mechanical división was born in 1980.

2006 saw the beginning of Bermudez, Longo, Díaz-Massó, LLC as known today, when Bermudez & Longo S.E. joined forces with Díaz-Massó Inc., to establish a stronger way to build strategies facing the 21th century. In 2022 a younger generation leads the way and has taken our company to a new level, following the path of success throughout six decades.

TIMELINE

1960’s

Bermudez and Longo started operations as soon as Puerto Rico began to urbanize. Our history has been built together with progress. As a new electrical-contracting company, we provided community development projects such as: Venus Gardens Bonneville, Jardines de Caguas and Urbanización Monte Carlo.

1970’s

Vertical construction began to shape a new skyline on the island and the demand for infrastructure grew rapidly. We pioneered the market demands by providing the best available technology for projects such as: The Minillas Tunnel, El Comandante Racetrack, Cobian’s Plaza office building, Isleta Marina condominium, and the expansion of Plaza Las Americas.

Diversification of construction needs grew in complexity. Our engineers spearheaded the construction of Carolina Regional Hospital, San Juan Capestrano Hospital, Los Paseos Urbanization, the remodeling of El San Juan Resort El Casino, Fomento Building, and high-tech manufacturing plants around the island.

1990’s

1980’s Operating Structure

Bermudez, Longo, Díaz-Massó, LLC is registered by the Puerto Rico Department of State as a “Limited Liability Company (LLC)”. The company is managed by the BLDM Management Corp, composed of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and a Secretary. The Advisory Board is composed of the partners and a group of highly competent external consultants.

TIMELINE

2000’s

The turn of the century saw even greater demand for quality electromechanical engineering at the lowest-possible cost that also met the highest environmental standards. We delivered on all those requirements for the Puerto Rico Convention Center and its district’s Sheraton Hotel; the renovation of La Concha Hotel; the Urban Train’s Rio Piedras station and other public utility projects.

2010’s

Bermúdez, Longo, Diaz- Massó, LLC continues to make a valuable contribution to the developmental integrity and environmental quality of Puerto Rico. Our well-established “green” philosophy was the driving force behind our work on, among other projects, the St. Regis Bahía Beach Resort, the 20-megawatt (MW) AES Ilumina Solar Farm and the 75MW Santa Isabel Wind Farm.

2020’s

With the arrival of a new century, BLDM has actively participated in the development of infrastructure for Puerto Rico in the transportation, health, hospitality, and entertainment sectors, among others. Under the presidency of Francisco Diaz Massó, a culture of innovation, technological transformation and environmental awareness has been promoted. BLDM has maintained a strong leadership position in projects related to Green Energy. Divisions dedicated to providing alternative sources of energy and telecommunications were created and strengthened and a wide array of diversity and inclusion initiatives have been released.

METAL AND STEEL PREFAB SHOP

The prefabrication shop located at our Guaynabo headquarters increases productivity under a controlled environment, while reducing on-site installation time and EHS risks.

HYDRAULIC & WATER SERVICES

At BLDM we have historically been an integral part of the PRASA team in the refurbishing, replacing, and construction of diverse aqueduct and sewer projects, water projects in almost every municipality of Puerto Rico.

Our experienced and skilled electromechanical engineering brigades also perform similar installations for private development projects.

We specialize in installation and construction of main lines, water transmission lines, trunk sewer and work-nets for both, potable water or used water. These projects usually take place in:

BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING

Building Information Modeling (BIM) service promotes interdisciplinary coordination, mitigates risks and improves activities sequencing.

BLDM is a pioneer in the implementation of renewable energy in Puerto Rico. Our projects comprise both solar and wind energy generation systems.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Our Telecommunications team performs the design and installations of OSP aerial and underground communications systems along with the construction of manholes and conduit runs. We also perform inside plant works such as access control, CCTV, data rooms, structures cabling and wiring in categories, ranging from 5 to 6a. Our workforce consists of more than 200 specialized communications technicians who are skilled in the latest methods of installing analog /digital and fiber optic wiring systems, in compliance with TIA/EIA Standards.

DISASTER RECOVERY

BLDM has provided continuity plans for our clients and disaster response and recovery services for major natural disasters in Puerto Rico and the USVI. Our team is capable of providing the necessary resources, including materials supply, manpower, equipment and light and heavy machinery to effectively engage in areas that require labor intensive work as a result of environmental impacts, and subsequently provide construction services to enable the start of regular operations in the affected area. Our team will provide the necessary manpower to support clean up, re-construction and construction services to enable the start of regular operations in the affected area. BLDM has their own Material Supply with major providers and it own Warehouse. BLDM has their own Vehicle Shop and a fleet of over 150 vehicles, and latest heavy equipment such as cranes and trenchers.

Our current total bondable capacity above $300,000,000.00 and $125,000,00.00 for individual projects. BLDM is insured by Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. of America.
