A CITY OF WEATHERFORD PUBLICATION

CITY COUNCIL AND LEADERSHIP

MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

Dear Weatherford Residents, Welcome to the first issue of our new monthly resident newsletter - True Texas Connections. Within this publication, you will find timely and pertinent information regarding the City of Weatherford. From tips and news to employee achievements and events, it’s all here. Each month, the issue will be available on the City website and social media. This is a great time to start a publication like this, as there are so many “good news” stories to share right here in our community. It’s no secret that Weatherford and Parker County are growing at an unprecedented rate, and with that comes great opportunities. One of the most recent developments is the addition of a new Costco Wholesale, which will be located at the northwest corner of I-20 and Center Point Road. This exciting addition will not only be a wonderful amenity for our community, but it will also significantly contribute to the local economy and provide several hundred new jobs. H-E-B has secured 92 acres at the intersection of Bethel Road and I-20. Both of these additions will be a wonderful amenity for our community, but also positively impact the local economy and provide new jobs. We are also very fortunate to have a team of top-notch City employees serving our community. I truly believe we have the best and hardest-working individuals in the state, consistently striving for excellence. It’s a great time to live, work, play, and visit Weatherford and Parker County. I am honored to serve this amazing community and encourage you to join me in the excitement for the wonderful elements on the horizon!

PAUL PASCHALL

Mayor

DEVELOPMENT NEWS Costco Wholesale Adding New Weatherford Location Costco Wholesale is adding a new location in Weatherford in 2024. The new facility – the first of its kind in Parker County – will be located at the northwest corner of I-20 and Center Point Road. Construction on the new facility will begin this summer and is expected to be completed by early 2025. The site is just over 20 acres and will house the new 160,000 square foot retail destination. “It’s no secret that Weatherford and Parker County are growing at an unprecedented rate, and with that comes opportunities. When we look at growth, we seek valuable development that will enhance the quality of life for our residents, and the addition of Costco accomplishes that with bringing quality jobs, a wonderful amenity, and an excellent community partner,” said Mayor Paul Paschall. The new Costco location will bring approximately 235 jobs to the area, and offer gas, tires, dining, optical and hearing centers, and prescriptions. “Costco’s decision to expand into Weatherford will also have a positive economic impact generating valuable opportunity for quality businesses and retailers especially at the I-20 and Center Point Road quadrant,” said Mayor Paschall. City staff shared the same sentiments, expressing excitement for the future. “This is the start to an exciting 2024 and sets the tone for Weatherford’s strategic position for economic growth. We look forward to a successful partnership and the mutual benefits this opportunity brings between Weatherford and Costco” said Assistant Director of Economic Development, Ashley Seitz. For more information regarding the new Costco location, or development opportunities in Weatherford, please contact Ashley Seitz, aseitz@weatherfordtx.gov.
