At least eight different types of dolphins live in the Gulf of Mexico. There are more Atlantic bottlenose dolphins here than in any other sea. These dolphins are light gray with a pink belly. The Caribbean Sea has the second largest coral reef in the world. It stretches from Mexico to Honduras (hahn-DURus). Reefs are stony underwater walls. They are made by groups of small animals called corals.

A submarine (SUB-mahr-EEN) reaches the bottom of the Marianas Trench.
Three-quarters of the world’s volcanoes (vol-KAY-noh-s) are found around the Pacific Ocean. The ocean borders 55 countries. It has more than 25,000 islands.
Powerful volcanoes often give birth to new islands in the Pacific Ocean, especially near Japan.
