Instrumentation
Percussion 1: Marimba, Vibraphone, Timbales/Quads (Timbales is preferable, use quads if that is what is available)
Percussion 2: Marimba, Djembe, Kickdrum (optional for 4-on-the-floor during “Junble Samba”)
Percussion 3: Marimba, Double Second Steel Pans, Rain Stick, Bongo
Percussion 4: Marimba, Timpani, and Gong
Composer’s Note
"In, On, With" is a percussion piece inspired by the dendrobatidae, aka a poison dart frog, and its interactions with its ecosystem. I came to University of Nebraska - Lincoln and was inspired by the percussion studio and I knew that I had to write for them. This piece was World Premiered at a Flyover New Music Series concert on April 5th, 2019. This piece was the start of 4 years worth of wonderful collaboration.
