I. Migration
Sounds become shapes when we cannot see. By waters shaping sand geese and their tones of migration rising, falling in pitch as they come closer farther away sound shaped by space night air between us folding into shapes of feathers wind the form of return.
II. A Future Softening
Sound becomes a part of the instrument, the cello made not only with light in spruce needles and maple leaves not only when these are felled and milled carved and steamed becoming another body but shaped by tones through time each vibration a future softening even as resin and grain move after returning to the shores of silence.
III. Silhouettes
Silhouettes are the first to hold the morning. Crescents of light form along the darkness of branches contrast allowing lumen to be seen.
Smoke from chimney covers these curves like clouds against moons. Yet these clouds do not bring rain. It is as we have done building flames again and again and like geese on shore in a storm we turn in to the body of the other for warmth.
