Time to unveil their business excellence
he big night is almost here and anticipation has been building for months as the Abbotsford 2019 Business Excellence Awards Gala takes place Thursday, Nov. 21. This year’s theme is Masquerade: Unveiling Your Business Excellence and it couldn’t be more apropos as the nominees nervously await the judges’ verdict. But just being nominated is proof that these local businesses have indeed stood above their peers over the past year, and recognition in the form of a Business Excellence Award their just reward. Since the Business Excellence Awards started in 1996, more than 260 awards have been presented to businesses in Abbotsford. Congratulations are in order for those who have been nominated. The 24th annual Business Excellence Awards sees 80 nominees in 14 categories from home-based businesses to new businesses, to both small and large established businesses. A new category has been added this year – Corporate Social Responsibility – and is being sponsored by UFV. This award recognizes an organization that demonstrates awareness and responsibility for the impacts of its business practices: decisions and activities on society, the community and the environment and shared value for all stakeholders. The Business Excellence Awards recognize outstanding organizations and individuals in Abbotsford that strive for excellence in our community. The awards have been presented by the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce and the Abbotsford News since their inception.
