Message of Welcome from Mayor Braun On behalf of Abbotsford City Council, I’m pleased to welcome everyone to the 2019 Abbotsford Agrifair, “Where Memories are Made”. Since 1911, memories have been made in Abbotsford at Agrifair, providing family fun to thousands in our community and those who come from afar. With interactive demonstrations, displays, competitions, rides and great entertainment, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Each year, along with favourites from the past, there is always a new feature to look forward to, and this year is no exception. Come out and catch the excitement of the Truck & Tractor Pull, Tank Car-crushes, Pirates of the Fraser, Yule Kids trick riding, Laughing Loggers, and, my favourite, the 4-H competition! Agrifair also provides our community with an excellent opportunity to showcase the important role agriculture plays in Abbotsford. With the richest and most productive agricultural land in Canada located just outside of our city’s urban core, our community is a hub for agriculture and agri-business. I am proud of this rich legacy and also excited to support our entrepreneurial, innovative agricultural community as it moves us into the future. NEW & EXCITING AT THIS YEAR’S FAIR
TRUCK & TRACTOR PULL RETURNS After a 15-year absence, Abbotsford Agrifair welcomes back the truck and tractor pull, hosted by Campbell Motorsport Ltd. of Chilliwack. Brad Campbell says the three-day event will be the biggest event of its kind ever seen on the West Coast. Friday starts off with some local stock gas and diesel trucks. The top five will move on to Saturday’s show Then the top three move on to the final show on Sunday. Time pending, along with Friday, there will be some mod pullers that you will see Saturday and Sunday, as well as 50-50 tickets on Saturday and Sunday for a chance to win a ride in a Hog Wild 2wd puller. It is one of Agrifair’s main goals to bring a wide variety of animals for everyone to enjoy. Returning is Nancy the Buffalo and Francine the Bison. Newcomer Cinemazoo is showcasing a photo-op area and Goat Hill, along with goats, bunnies, fancy chickens and more. Also make sure you take time to check out all the different 4-H displays, and feel free to ask any questions you may have. 4- H is a program designed for youth nine to 21 years old, teaching the motto “Learn to do by doing.” These youth put hours into training and creating their project and are more than willing to show them off.

Food, fun, beer and pop Food, fun, beer and pop: The rood court found in TJ’s Corral boasts a licensed venue hosted by Old Abbey Ales Brewing and 17 food trucks, including a healthy alternative to the poutine, burgers and traditional fair food. Enjoy the grub from a 1960s-style diner and then grab your seat to watch the Laughing Logger antics on Friday and Sunday. Old Abbey Ales was founded in 2013 and brewed its first batch of beer in March
POC firefighters from Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service will also be on site for any first-aid needs that arise while guests are enjoying the fair. They want to remind everyone to drink water.

Over the years, this annual tradition has been one of the mainstay attractions at the Agrifair and has played host to some very exciting moments for wrestling fans. Legends such as “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, Val Venis, Short Sleeve Sampson, and many more have been special guests in addition to a wide array of wrestling talent from all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. This year it has been announced that Davey Boy Smith Jr. –the reigning All Star Wrestling Trans-Canada Champion and son of the late British Bulldog – will headline the Friday and Saturday evening shows. This will be the second appearance at the Agrifair for this internationally travelled star and is no doubt going to be a great addition to the festivities. Additionally, there will be meet-and-greet opportunities with Davey Boy during the first two days of the fair. While the independent wrestling scene continues to rise in popularity with new promotions and promising up-and-comers breaking out regularly, “Wrestling at
the Fair” will continue to be an eclectic multi-promotional effort that features performers young and old that is a mustsee stop during Agrifair weekend.

Mike Democrat and Tim Flowers promise this year again you will not be disappointed. There are indie pro wrestlers from many different wrestling promotions, including ECCW, ICW, PPW, VIPW, Big West, 321 Battle, DEFY, and The Buddy Wayne Academy.

It’s that time of year again when the Fraser Valley Antique Farm Machinery Association members are busy sprucing up the Pioneer Barn, the sawmill, and their collection of farming equipment in preparation for the 2019 Agrifair. During Agrifair, the Pioneer Barn will showcase an historic collection of farming equipment. Most of the unique collection has been donated to the club by local farmers and their pioneer families in order to preserve local farming history.
