Campbell River RCMP arrested two people by Wednesday afternoon in connection with a suspicious house fire that destroyed a home at the Wei Wai Kum reserve on Tuesday morning.

The home was completely engulfed in flames when police arrived on-scene, according to a media release from the Campbell River RCMP. “Suspects in the incident were quickly identified,” the release said.

“A female resident of the community was arrested in relation to the offence. She has subsequently been released as the investigation continues.”

“The fire was not random and is being treated as an arson,” the release said, adding that “a team of investigators has been assigned” and the investigation continues.

Fire: Flames prevented from spreading Continued from A1 Campbell River Fire Chief Thomas Doherty. “(T)here were multiple propane tanks venting and on fire, there were a number of explosions occurring,” Doherty said in an email.

“There was one explosion that sent metal shrapnel flying, just missing myself and one other firefighter.”

No injuries were reported in the house fire at 2335 Henderson Ave., which authorities have called suspicious.

The building was fully involved when firefighters arrived around 9:20 a.m., Doherty said, shortly after firefighters quelled the blaze.

“We’re treating it as suspicious in nature at this point,” he said.

Flames spread to the vinyl siding of a neighbouring home, but firefighters were able to prevent it from spreading further.

“We were able to knock that down, save that home and protect the remaining homes on either side,” he said.

There were 17 firefighters and several fire trucks involved, Doherty said. Crews remained onscene to watch for hot spots. Firefighters were also receiving health assessments.

Insp. Jeff Preston, detachment commander for the Campbell River RCMP, said the fire was sus-

picious as he arrived on-scene.

Wei Wai Kum Chief Chris Roberts said he was grateful for the quick action by first responders and the response from residents.

“We’re a tight-knit community,” Roberts said. “When things like this happen, it involves or concerns a lot of people.”

He added he was thankful that neighbouring homes didn’t appear to be damaged and that no one was hurt.

A neighbour who declined to provide her full name said the vinyl siding on her home was “pretty melted” but that insurance would cover the expense.

Markell Miller, who lives across the street, said his wife saw a man in the doorway of the house moments before the fire started. She was walking to work at the time, Miller said.

“He was doing something at the doorway there,” he said. “After he left, she (saw) a fire there.”

The man then knocked on the doors of both neighbouring homes after the fire was started, Miller said, but no one was home.

After knocking on the doors, the man “just booked it with his car and took off.”

RCMP stepping up summer patrols Campbell River will see more police patrolling the downtown area by foot and bike this summer, according to the RCMP. “In the downtown core, the extra patrols will ensure a peaceful summer for tourists and community members alike,” said a media release from the Campbell River RCMP. Bike patrols and foot patrols are a great way to navigate the downtown area in the summer, said RCMP spokesperson Cst. Maury Tyre in the statement. “People in Campbell River really seem to enjoy seeing police out and about at events, and it is definitely a key to community policing.”

Meanwhile, area lakes will be patrolled by Mounties in a vessel called a rigid hull inflatable.

“Specific focus will be paid on the lakes, ensuring that vessel operators are licensed, sober, and that all the necessary safety equipment (especially life jackets) are on everyone’s boats,” the release said. “Check online with Transport Canada to determine the requirements of your specific vessel.”

Police also say they’ll be stepping up traffic patrols as the roads become busier on Vancouver Island, especially during long weekends.

“Specific attention will be paid to driver sobriety and the safety of site workers on

the many road construction area in the community,” the release said. “Simply put, if you plan to drink or smoke marijuana, plan to have a safe way home and enjoy responsibly.”

Last year’s Canada Day long weekend saw local police dealing with 32 incidents involving alcohol and eight specific impaired driving investigations, according to the release.

Police asked that anyone wishing to report criminal activity or impaired driving call the Campbell River RCMP. If you wish to report information and remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, the release added.

And the benefit of allowing secondary suites doesn’t only help tenants, Corbett says, but also those struggling to get into the housing market now that the average price of a home in Campbell River has well surpassed the affordability of the median-income-earning family. “People who are having trouble affording homes or affording to maintain their homes can look to a rental suite to help supplement their mortgage costs,� Corbett says.

The city’s economic development officer, Rose Klukas, told council that the dire housing situation is negatively affecting the local economy in various ways at this point, as well. “More than ever, housing is becoming a critical component of economic development, and part of the reason is that labour is becoming a global component of development options and people will go where housing is available and affordable,� Klukas says. “At the local level, I’m hearing that, more than ever, the lack of available housing is impacting businesses. You may have seen that if you go to a restaurant later in the evening and they’re not open because they didn’t have enough staff. We’re also seeing it in that we have innovative businesses that are unable to grow because they can’t attract staff, even in well-paying positions (because of housing costs and availability).�

Coun. Colleen Evans says she, too, has heard from businesses who have offered positions to potential employees only to have the offers turned down “because they can’t find accomodation they can afford.�

But such a sudden, drastic,

overarching blanket change to the city’s zoning provisions didn’t sit well with at least a couple of members of council – even some of whom voted in favour of having the bylaw drafted. “I feel like it’s a great idea, but it might need a roll-out where we focus on one particular area – like Quinsam (Heights), for example – and go from there,� Coun. Ron Kerr suggested.

Coun. Kermit Dahl wondered if other communities who had implemented this type of change did so for all existing housing or just for new construction, “because I don’t want to see us downloading the housing price situation on the residents who have already bought homes in an area,� with the understanding that it was

Coun. Charlie Cornfield echoed Dahl’s sentiments, saying “there is a difference between established neighbourhoods and new ones,� citing numerous examples of developers or homeowners wanting zoning amendments to add secondary suites only to receive public outcry against it.

But Coun. Claire Moglove says it’s past time for council to take a serious look at a serious change. “When you have – I don’t want to say crisis but it’s on the verge of a crisis – at a certain point, we, as the leaders of the community, need to do something.�

Coun. Moglove says. “This is step one of doing something about it. I’m not going to

step back from that because we fear the ‘Not-In-MyBack-Yard’ community out there. We need to move forward.�

Everyone around the table agreed that the consultation process would need to be extremely thorough and numerous neighbourhood meetings would need to be held throughout the process to ensure everyone with an opinion on the matter is heard before such a drastic change is made.

But in the end, it was decided that staff should prepare the zoning bylaw to be presented for first reading at the July 22 meeting of city council, at which point the city will begin the consultation process with the community to get feedback on the proposal.

Bylaw officers can now issue fines for drinking in public This past spring, Campbell River City Council discussed the possibility of giving city bylaw officers the ability to ticket those who they caught drinking alcohol in public.

The amendments to the Public Nuisance and Ticketing for Bylaw Offences bylaw were meant to give the city another mechanism to help cleanup the downtown core, where public consumption of liquor has become an increasing issue, the staff report on the subject said.

The city already has bylaws in place that allow its officers to issue tickets for drinking in public in

city parks, but not in other public areas, which director of planning Peter Wipper called “an anomaly.”

Those amendments, however, were defeated by a tie vote in council chambers.

Coun. Michele Babchuk was absent from that meeting, and Councillors Kermit Dahl, Charlie Cornfield and Ron Kerr voted against the motion.

When Babchuk returned, she was surprised to hear the initiative was defeated, so asked for it to be reconsidered, which is her right as a councillor who was not present for the vote.

That happened this week.

“When I found out that this had failed, I was quite

surprised,” Babchuk said, “because we have heard impassioned comments through (RCMP) Inspector Preston and our own bylaw people to begin to start working with the Crown and give our bylaw officers the ability to do something in the downtown core that they already have the ability to do in our parks. We’ve gotta start somewhere, and this has to start with the court system.”

Mayor Andy Adams agreed.

“While it can create an inconvenience for our bylaw officers and staff, they are recommending this,” Adams said. “Even though it is an inconvenience, it provides

a tool for them to build the case to be able to establish that Red Zone area to be able to move forward as part of the public safety initiative.”

“I don’t see how this changes the behaviour. It just changes the location,” Dahl said, echoing his statements last time. “It’s going to force the people out of the downtown and into another part of town, and there’s nothing here to deal with it when it’s in a different neighbourhood. There’s not going to be a safety office built in Campbellton.

I’m not going to support it, just like I didn’t support it last time, because there’s nothing here to change the behaviour.”

Cornfield also stood by his vote, again saying, “the type of people that are consuming the alcohol and creating the problem aren’t the type of people who are going to be paying tickets anyway.”

But Wipper told council when the initial vote happened that it’s not as much about the violators paying the tickets they are issued.

“With some individuals, it probably won’t make a heck of a difference,” Wipper said, “but if their tickets mount up, you can take them to civic court and say, ‘we’re not getting compliance here, and we

“If you take to the courts several tickets showing non-compliance over an extended period of time, the courts can say, ‘obviously the tickets aren’t working and compliance isn’t being achieved’ and we do have the option of applying to establish a Red Zone that would prohibit those people from attending that area. If they are in that area when they’re not allowed to be, they would be arrested.”

Wipper says the strategy has worked well in other

communities.

“They’ve found that these zones break the behaviour pattern. No longer are they associating with the same individuals on a daily basis, and that helps them. Calls for service for these individuals actually goes down.

That’s the theory and philosophy behind it.”

The vote went the same way this week as it did last time, with Kerr, Dahl and Cornfield voting in opposition, but with Babchuk in favour, the amendments passed this time, meaning city bylaw officers can now begin ticketing for the offence.

The fine will be $200.

ith three new pups born in May, two more Vancouver Island Marmots were released on Mount Washington Monday as part of the annual program to increase the species in the wild.

Malcolm McAdie, project veterinarian, captive breeding co-ordinator for The Vancouver Island Marmot Recovery Foundation said currently, the wild population is about 150 to 200, while the captive population is around 60.

The captive-bred marmots - which are bred at the Toronto and Calgary zoos - are part of 18 marmots who will be joining the wild population of the critically endangered species this year.

The release Monday was the second release of the year.

Earlier in June, the foundation released a solitary female in the Nanaimo Lakes region.

Other releases are set to take place in Strathcona Provincial Park.

The Vancouver Island Marmot population has been recovering since the species nearly went extinct in the early 2000s.

From 2003, when fewer than 30 wild marmots remained, the population has grown significantly, but they are still at a level where the population needs to be increased, noted McAdie.

“Right now, we have these small colonies - we have a number of them, but they’re small, and they’re susceptible to predation.”

He noted climate change does play a factor in their population.

“When you have an animal that’s this rare, some people compare it to a drunk person walking on the edge of a cliff. There’s always the potential for a catastrophe. It’s more the variation of weather dryer summers or changes in the snowpack.”

Cozy quilts donated to Second Chance Recovery House The Campbell River Friendship Quilters Guild members were busy this winter as they took on a project to make quilts for the beds at the Second Chance Recovery House.

The initial goal was to make 10 bunk bed size quilts but due to the overwhelming support and generosity of the members, nearly double that goal was met. The project was helped out by a large cash donation NORTH ISLAND COLLEGE

from one member’s three young grandsons: enough to buy the batting.

The Guild is made up of about 60 members and is involved in making other donations to the community throughout the year.

River Concert Series changes it up at Spirit Square for opener

The much anticipated River Concert series begins this summer with a twist.

On Thursday evening, July 4, the Emily Carr String Quartet will perform on the Spirit Square stage. Classical music in Spirit Square?

“It’s a first,” says manager Jim Creighton. “Why not? We’re looking forward to reaching different audiences and also introducing our loyal fans to an expanded range of live music. The string quartet concert will have premier seating for the first 150 attendees.”

Besides the classical surprise, and a happy dose of folk and world beat, the dance crowd will not be forgotten with the return of Locarno, the Boom Booms, the inclusion of Retro Rock Revival and other favourites.

“We’ve covered a lot of bases this season,” says Creighton. “Country? We got it.

Classic rock? We got it. And don’t forget the CR Mirror Jazz and Blues Charity Weekend beginning July 25.”

Campbell River thrift store robbed at knifepoint, say RCMP Police say that a man robbed a Campbell River thrift store at knifepoint on Tuesday.

Campbell River RCMP responded to the incident at 415 2nd Ave. just before 11 a.m., said Sgt. Dave Johnson in a media release.

“The suspect entered the store brandishing a knife, robbing the cashier of money before he fled on a bicycle,” Johnson said. “No one was injured and the police investigation is continuing.”

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 25-30 years of age and five foot-ten to six feet, with a thin build.

He was wearing black pants, a black sweater and jacket with light coloured shoes and was riding a blue moutain bike.

Police said that several people were in the area at the time and are asking witnesses to contact the Campbell River RCMP. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-2228477.

• Stairs. Building a safe staircase to the attic is an important investment that you shouldn’t take lightly.

• Lighting. For the room to benefit from sufficient natural light, you may need to install skylights or other types of windows. Otherwise, choose your light fixtures according to how you plan on using the space.

• Rules and regulations. Make sure you’re aware of your local bylaws and other rules when it comes to adding a new space to your home. Also ensure that the project will be completed up to building and fire safety codes.

Finally, when it comes to decorating, use things like mirrors and lightcoloured walls to create the illusion of a larger space. Carpets and room dividers are two ways to separate different sections of a large room.

Smart storage solutions are also helpful in maximizing the space available in your attic.

For everything else, be creative, and try to highlight the architectural character of your attic. Use your imagination!

Pharmacare? Great. What about vision and dental?

It’s time for action. Actually it’s past time.

For years politicians have batted around the idea of a national pharmacare plan to replace the patchwork of uneven coverage Canadians have now. Coverage is different in every province, with drugs covered or not covered depending on where you live.

This can be a big problem for people with a variety of conditions should they want to, or need to, move from one province to another. And with every jurisdiction negotiating prices individually, we all pay a lot more, too, though in their last budget the federal Liberals pledged to create an agency to buy drugs in bulk to help cut medication costs.

A new report called “A Prescription for Canada: Achieving Pharmacare for All” recommends the move to a universal, single-payer, public system. The expert panel behind the report estimates a universal system will save approximately $5 billion, or about $350 per person per year.

And while a national pharmacare plan would be a big step in the right direction, there are other dire health needs that continue to go unaddressed in this country. One is dental care. The health of your teeth and mouth are key to your overall health, with repercussions on everything from your heart to your gut, and yet, unless you are on certain kinds of social assistance, everyone must pay out of their pocket. The result, of course, is that a lot of people can’t afford to pay, and must simply suffer. Tooth extractions and dentures should not be seen as optional. Then there’s vision care. This effects everything from your ability to drive to the ability to read. Once again. Not an extra.

We’re drowing in a sea of disposable plastic On days when I need to grab lunch on the fly, it usually involves a walk to a nearby grocery store.

While convenient and fairly economical, buying a sandwich and a bit of fresh fruit to tide me over often leaves me feeling like no friend to the environment.

Last Thursday’s midday meal was a case in point, including two plastic clam-shell containers – for the aforementioned sandwich and fruit – and a plastic bag of baby carrots.

Once empty, the containers went into the recycling bin and from there, well, who really knows?

I trust they will be re-purposed into something useful and not end up in a landfill – or worse.

But with less than 10 per cent of single-use plastics being recycled at the moment in Canada my responsibly

At the moment, Canadians are reportedly tossing away three million tons of plastic annually and one third of plastics used here are single-use items, including 15 million plastic bags and 50 million straws per day. (I got a lot of email during Oceans Week).

A ban seems to me like a good place to start. In theory, at least.

It’s the execution that concerns me.

Ditching drinking straws, party balloons and water bottles is an obvious first step. Opting for the more environmentally friendly option whenever possible – also doable.

Other solutions are less easy to execute.

One Oceans Week release advised, among other steps, choosing not to purchase items that come wrapped in

plastic. I’m still trying to decide if the person who wrote it has ever stepped inside a grocery store.

In addition to pre-made sandwiches and melon chunks, pretty much everything we eat, from soup to nuts, comes wrapped in some form of plastic.

With what I think can be accurately described as humanity’s addiction to plastic, can we manage to put the genie back in the (disposable) bottle?

Possibly. But not without serious effort, including major incentives for both producers and consumers, and a level of personal and political will the world has not yet seen.

None of this means we shouldn’t try, but for now, at least, it’s far from in the bag.

Hospital foundation receives donation for transport ventilator

McHappy Day is a very special tradition for Ronald McDonald Charities across the country. It is also a special day for the Campbell River Hospital Foundation. Jens and Mary Rolinski, owners of Campbell River McDonald’s, recently presented the hospital foundation with a gift to support the purchase of a transport ventilator.

Each year approximately 400 babies are born at Campbell River Hospital and there are occasions when babies need special care that cannot be provided locally and they need to be transferred to another hospital.

Occasionally, there are challenges with some of these transfers due to weather conditions that make flying impossible. When ground transport is needed, this transport ventilator will be used. It is capable of providing different modes of ventilation support, which starts at providing extra oxygen, assisted ventilation to completely controlled ventila-

Rogers will fight in the novice division and has been studying muay thai the last couple of years after looking for a new challenge.

She says she loves the intensity of the sport.

Bastian describes her as the hardest worker in the gym and has maybe missed five or six days since Heart & Soul opened. “Watching the improvement has been remarkable. I am excited to watch her grow as a martial artist and see how she performs in Edmonton,” the coach adds.

Noel also fights as a novice, and says she tries not to get pulled off her game by men-

tal distractions. She works full-time and is a mom to two teenage girls, but she still finds the time to train. Bastian says in her last fight she came up a bit short so it will be good to see the improvements come July.

Finally, Jardine has been working to pick up her training for the nationals. She had studied karate for virtually her whole life and started in muay thai after moving to the community.

“Funny watching her compete, as when I first started training her she never wanted to fight. This is her second big tournament that she has entered. So much for not wanting to compete,” says Bastian.

Saratoga puts on a show that Ed Sullivan would have been proud of

By Douglas Waller Saratoga Speedway in Black Creek was the location for BIG fun this past weekend with a big crowd in attendance to enjoy what Ed Sullivan would proclaim as a “Really Big Shoo.”

The Hornet B division put on the really big show with 21 cars taking the green flag to start their 30 lap Main event (that is a lot for this division of drivers). Taylor Pheaton and Miles Beaulieu both started the race

back in midfield of the 21 cars but by lap 30 only 6 cars were on the lead lap. The two aforementioned drivers wove through lap down traffic as professional drivers would do and in the process put on a driving clinic for the other B division drivers.

There was only one caution flag early in the race due to a spin by one vehicle. The rest of the race ran clean and green with all the drivers earning big commendations for how caution-free the rest of the race was.

When the checkered flag flew to end the race, Pheaton was in second place 0.247 seconds behind the leader Beaulieu.

The fun of the evening did not end there.

The faster Hornet A division drivers fielded eight cars to take the green flag in their 25 lap Main event. Blair Mangles in his #10 had been fast all evening but in post race Boston Larson drove his way to Victory Lane in the inspection, his car failed the tech inspection.

Spoiled? Maybe but they’re also fit and healthy

I think many of us in the western world would have to answer yes to this question.

I often wonder if I make good parenting decisions. I really have no idea. It’s a tough job and with so much going on everyday, it’s hard to focus the attention needed to be a super dad, or even an average dad. Do we just spoil our kids instead of concentrating on more important values?

Being in the bike biz, I see many parents who wouldn’t hesitate to spend money on their kid’s bikes – $1,000, $2,000, or maybe $5,000 on a bike is a worthy expense if it gets their kid out doing what they love and living a healthy lifestyle.

Do these kids NEED an expensive bike? No, but if it enhances their life, why not? A kid who enjoys sport,

and competition, and play, is a kid who is not only having some fun, but also a kid learning to focus, learning how to adapt, and learning how to overcome failure. All pretty good life skills.

When I was 10, my parents bought me a moto-x bike and got me into racing. My parents were not wealthy and I know this was a big sacrifice for them.

When I look back at those years, I remember not only the racing, but the life experience it gave me, and more importantly, all the time my dad and I spent together racing, practicing, and road tripping. Without all that, I would be a different person now, and not for the better.

Sure, school was great for math and reading, but most of my life skills came from living life doing the

things I loved. Moto-x, lacrosse, mountain biking, partying, and travelling. None of this stuff was cheap and none of it necessary to survive, but my parents made it available to me throughout my youth (except the partying, that came in my 20’s on my own dime).

When my daughter was six, she told me she didn’t want to ride mountain bikes anymore because the trails were too bumpy. The next day I ordered her a full suspension bike.

Part of me wondered if this was for her or for me, but she loves her bike now and we get out on great family rides. Sure it seems ridiculous to have a $2,000 bike for a sixyear-old, but we’re a couple of years in now and it is still bringing huge value to us as a family, so I think it’s for all of us.

When I see my kids playing, spending countless hours doing flips on their trampoline, blasting around at gymnastics, or riding their over-the-top mountain bikes around

Continued from A27 in the first place trophy being awarded to Jimmy Antonik who had raced the #10 hard all race and especially after a late race caution flag brought both cars close together to restart the race with about four laps to go. The #87 driven by Boston Larson was moved up to second place and third ended up going to #45 Darren Monk after another car was disqualified in post race tech inspection.

In the last race of the evening, the Saratoga Bombers put on a big show in their 25 lap Feature race even though only six cars took the green flag. In this race, Larson drove his Bomber division car to Victory Lane with Darrel Larsen finishing 0.509 seconds behind. Gary Marcus captured the third place podium finish 8/10ths of a second behind the leader.

Saratoga Speedway will put on another “Really Big Shoo” this coming Saturday night June 29 with the always popular Crash to Pass Boat Races sponsored by the Comox Valley Record and the Campbell River Mirror. The cars tow an old boat around behind them on a water soaked track and win by having the biggest piece of boat dragging behind when the checkered flag drops.

There will be other race events as well with the very quick Dwarf cars, a new class of figure 8 track cars, the paint trading Mad Max Extreme racing and the BIG field of Hornet B division cars.

School is out, tourists are arriving and this is prime time for fishing The pages on my fishing calendar are flying by pretty fast and already plans are being made for the month of July and August to get out fishing locally and then venture north to check out a few lakes and rivers north of Sayward.

We have a few people getting together and looking at the Eve River to spend a day or two there then later on investigate and fish around Port Alice.

School is out and more people have headed to the west coast with their boats for a change of scenery and fish Nootka Sound. I call this rock and roll fishing as the wind can blow you around and be a challenge when it comes to salmon fishing. Already there have been some rough days on the water but when things calm down, it’s a real thrill of a lifetime to fish in that area.

Even if you don’t plan to fish it is well worth the drive to Gold River and enjoy the scenic route, see what is there and plan to go back at a later date. Around Gold River there are a number of lakes to fish for trout in the months to come.

Here in Campbell River, the boating traffic has been down in Area 13 for a number of reasons. Because of catch and release regulations on the springs, many anglers are waiting it out until July 15 but the fishing has been steady recently for both springs and coho.

Keep in mind, also, with the price of gas, those getting out are making shorter trips to the fishing zone or simply getting out to

their fishing spots and jigging for salmon or bottom fish using Point Wilson Darts. Those targeting coho salmon are using coho killer or coyote spoons.

In this area we have great fishing and if you compare what is happening south of us between Nanaimo and Victoria, our fish are bigger. In the south, keeper size to 20 pounds is good but the size range for salmon around Campbell River is around 14 to 26 pound fish.

For those using the Big Rock boat launch remember there is no parking in the gas station property across the street.

The run of pink salmon will be arriving in a few weeks and already a few catches have been made trolling and for those people who want to get started in salmon fishing, the pinks offer great fun on light tackle.

one always eager and willing to help you land a pink. Last year it was just after the July 1 weekend that pinks were being caught right off the dock and when that happens, word spreads like wildfire. Life jackets are mandatory to wear for the kids and they are free at the gift shop tourist office on the wharf.

Locally, there have been good insect hatches and trout fishing has been good on various lakes and keep in mind the larger lakes will be better this time for fishing in the warmer weather. Getting down deep is the key.

River levels are low and rain is needed.

There are a few local rivers I plan to get out my 4 weight fly rod and throw out some dry flies for catch and release trout.

During the warm weather get on a good pair of wading boots and even if you don’t wear waders, I just have a good pair of short pants and go waist deep in water and fly fish.

Grieg Seafood BC Ltd., a dynamic and growing company in the Aquaculture industry, is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Site Manager to support our sea site operations on the West Coast and East Coast of Vancouver Island.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Aquaculture Technician will work shifts of 8 days in and 6 days out. Working as part of a team, the Aquaculture Technician will be primarily responsible for farm operations including feeding, animal husbandry and security of fish stocks.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for leading the farm team in all on-site operations. Shifts will be 8-days-on and 6-days-off.

Key Accountabilities: • A keen understanding of all fish handling procedures (i.e. grading and splits) • Understand, enforce, and adhere to all government regulations, farm practicesand standard of practices • A good understanding of feed regimes, feed rates and feed monitoring • Familiarity with cage and anchoring knowledge and related maintenance
