Another outstanding group of grade 4 and 5 Surrey School District students participated in the annual Surrey Picasso Art Project. Twelve grade 4 and 5 Surrey classes were asked to be part of the Surrey Picasso Art Project this year. I had the pleasure of visiting each of these classrooms and guiding them through the process of creating art work for local businesses. The students patiently learned about the ins and outs of ad design and the importance of research, asking questions and implementing a call to action in each piece of art work.
I would like to thank Ryan Sidhu at Surrey School District for coordinating the schools and teachers for this project. I would also like to thank the amazing students and teachers who took time to be a part of this project. Last but definitely not least, a big thank you to the participating local business for giving these students the opportunity to create art on their behalf.
Each of the businesses in this feature remarked on the quality and detail of the artwork they received and that they had a very tough time choosing just one.
