DESIGN AN AD It is with great pleasure that I present to you the following pages of amazing artwork created by Surrey School District grade 4 and 5 students for the Surrey Picasso Design An Ad project.

project. Last but definitely not least, a big thank you to the participating Local Businesses for giving these students the opportunity to create art on their behalf.

I had the pleasure of traveling to 6 schools and speaking with 12 separate classes of grade 4 and 5 students. The students learned about the ins and outs of creating artwork for local businesses. The importance of research, asking questions and implementing a call to action in each ad were just some of the aspects these students learned and put into action.These inquisitive young minds not only asked important questions about the process but also about the business they were about to create art for.

If these students are any indication of our future, we are going to be in good hands.

Each of the businesses on the following pages had a very tough time choosing from the variety of artwork that was presented to them from each class that was assigned to their business. It was extremely difficult for them to narrow it down to just one. This speaks volumes to the talent pool in our local schools.

I would like to thank Jordan Delville-Pratt at Surrey School District 36 for coordinating the schools and teachers for this project.
