A FAMILY-OPERATED BUSINESS ESTABLISHED IN THE FRASER VALLEY IN 1992 Maureen and Rob wanted to settle the factory in their hometown of Aldergrove but they continued to be home-based on Maureen’s family farm of Emerald Acres, waiting for just the right building. Their dream became a reality in June 2002, when they opened the doors to the public for Aldergrove Days. Milseán is proud to be standing in this great community of Aldergrove as it grew across the country. Their Original Demerara Butter Crunch, which Maureen created back in 1981, still proves to be their #1 product. New this year is their ‘take home’ freezer section filled with Milseán’s ever-popular, ready to bake scones, handmade soups, and handmade gelato.

THE FOX & HOUNDS A ‘Fictionalized History’
The ‘true’ story goes something like this... ‘About two hundred years ago a young man opened a public house in merry Old England. His hobby was the classic sport of fox hunting and he chose the name Fox & Hounds Pub for his fine establishment. Things went well, but he was the restless type and longed for more adventure and wanted to travel to the New World. This was not to be without his beloved pub though, as he disassembled the heavy timbered building and shipped it and himself off to the western frontier of Canada. He settled in the wilderness of British Columbia in a handsome grove of alder trees. He called the place Aldergrove~ This was great fox country as he’d heard through mates from the Hudson’s Bay Co. and he could continue his beloved sport in grand style. The heavy, original timbers from his pub in England were used to frame his new pub, a gathering place for his hunting buddies in this new land. Through the years the Fox & Hounds has seen many generations of patrons through the doors, ~ truly a Neighbourhood Pub. As the town grew so did the little pub. Over time new additions were added, and each was slightly different in style and form. The result was an eclectic collection of rooms, each filled with artifacts and treasures from the Publican’s many adventures and travels as well as memorabilia from friends here and from the old country. ou may have noticed the Otter Co-op Retail Centre is looking a little different this year. We are happy to announce our renovation has been 95% completed! Thank you to all of our team members, guests and community partners who stood by our side as we built a better Co-op for you. This renovation was more than just a coat of paint, as we upgraded the Retail Centre from the ceiling to the floor. What started as a need for new refrigeration units blossomed into a full expansion of our food, general merchandise and pharmacy departments. The Otter Co-op Deli and Cafeteria has been updated with a new look, an international cheese wall and the addition of fresh made Bento sushi in-store. The meat and bakery departments have opened up, allowing you to directly connect with the Otter Co-op team and see all the fresh products we have to offer. We have added more checkouts to improve efficiency and increase our ability to serve you through faster wait times and extra guest service clerks. As well, our hardware and family fashions departments have been reorganized to offer a better and brighter shopping experience with wider aisles, room for displays and highlighting our Co-op Imagine paint and colour matching program. On top of all this, we have updated to energy efficient lighting and better refrigeration units to continue to reduce our carbon footprint. The Retail Centre is back to full service and better than ever. We welcome you and your family to come to the Otter Co-op Retail Centre to see these changes for yourself, we cannot wait to serve you.
