Celebrate Local with Mission’s Business Excellence Awards Nominees The Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce and Board of Directors is pleased to announce this year’s nominees for the 2017 Business Excellence Awards. It is excited to see over 50 businesses from our community selected as nominees in 6 different award categories. On October 19th there will be a Nominees Luncheon to celebrate their achievement, and the whole community is invited! “Events and community engagements such as the Nominees Luncheon will bring more opportunity to highlight our nominees and create more recognition to the value the Business Excellence Awards bring to our local community.” – David Sawatzky, President, Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Business Excellence Nominees luncheon will be held at the Best Western hotel on October 19th from 11:30am–1:30pm and is open to the community to come and show their support. Come out to celebrate with all the nominees and make new connections with the business community. Mission Chamber of Commerce will be keeping with the current model of having a panel of 6 judges and engaging the community for their votes online as the 7th judge. This process will take place over the month of October. The finalists in each category will be announced in December 2017. Vote for the business you love at the Mission Record or Mission Chamber webpage. The winners of the 2017 Business Excellence Awards will be honoured at the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Gala on January 19th 2018 at the Clarke Theatre in Mission BC. “Connect with your local business owners and celebrate their success at this spectacular event that will focus on the success of all the finalists with an opportunity to network with many of our local business owners,” says Sawatzky. Contact the Chamber for more information or to purchase tickets.

Excellence in Business Doesn’t Come Easy To be honoured by your community and your peers with a nomination for the Business Excellence Awards is a feeling one can not easily explain. It is a tremendous honour to be nominated and for those small business owners who are working tirelessly every day it is the acknowledgment that they have truly “made it.” To be recognized as one of the “best” means the community has embraced you, they have seen your hard work and feel you are deserving of this honour. As a past award nominee and recipient (2014), I know the sense of pride I felt when I was first nominated and the incredible feeling of accomplishment when receiving my award in 2014. Being recognized with a Business Excellence Award helped to bring more credibility to my business and introduced me to many
DAVID SAWATZKY new members of the community and helped to build my business. Whether or not you are a Chamber member, the Business Excellence Awards is the premier event for recognizing business in the community you
don’t want to miss. I encourage anyone in the community looking to build your network to come out and connect with your local business owners and celebrate their success starting with the October 19th Business Excellence Nominees Luncheon. Held at the Best Western, this special event will focus on the success of all the nominees with an opportunity to network with many of our local business owners. This daytime event will run from 11:30am–1:30pm. More information about the upcoming Awards Gala on January 19th, 2018, will be announced at this event, you wont want to miss it!
