Join us in our taproom for tours, snacks and tastings of our beers as well we hope conversation and good times with your neighbours. We are kid-friendly and encourage visits from everyone. Children are a part of your lives (and ours as well) and we know how important it is to include them. We are now nearly two years old and have had another amazing and eventful year. Our brewery was built by ourselves, family and friends and we’ve been growing! Our forest of stainless and fleet of oak will continue to grow. With your help we’ve won some awards and received some accolades and are very thankful. Most importantly, we’re brewing more styles of beer and experimenting with countless others. When you walk in we’ll be able to pour you:

* The Messy Church Program has been in existence since October of 2013. Greeted and welcomed by Pastor Marco when first arriving, everyone may participate in arts, crafts, and activities geared towards the monthly theme. Then moving into the Sanctuary, Pastor Marco will tie everything together including 2 or 3 songs and a prayer, followed by supper and fellowship. The program operates on a budget consisting of money from the Board through the Christian Development committee, donations from participants through a free-will offering, and money from the Legacy Fund as voted on at the Annual meeting. This includes not only the cost of materials used but the food purchased for the supper. As well, many supplies are donated.

Volunteers are always welcome, whether it be assisting with a craft, a story, a game, a song, or with the food in the kitchen. Including our food preparation planning individuals, there are currently 16 people on the planning committee. Everyone is welcome to come and simply see what the buzz is all about.

In 1924, the Cenotaph was erected by the Club in honour of the Lacombe residents who gave their lives during the First World War. Since then, the names of soldiers from the Lacombe area who gave their lives in the Second World War, Korean War, and the War in Afghanistan have been added. The Lacombe Cenotaph is carved from Italian Carrera marble. Albert J. Hart of Calgary designed the Cenotaph, as well as several others across Canada. The Cenotaph cost $3,500 build, and participates in the traditions of memorial architecture that developed across Canada following the First World War.

Candlelight Vigil Candlelight ceremonies began in the Netherlands to show thanks and to honour those who liberated the country and its people from German occupation during WWII. In 1995, the people of the Netherlands held a special ceremony to commemorate their liberation by Canadian Forces 50 years earlier. Dutch children placed lit candles on the graves of Canadian Soldiers. In Canada, our tribute is used to show the younger generations the importance of remembering what our soldiers fought and died for.

Reflections on Vimy This exhibit explores the questions; What happened at Vimy and what does it mean? and will give visitors a glimpse of what Vimy Ridge has meant—and continues to mean—for the residents of Lacombe. The exhibit will be displayed at the Lacombe Memorial Centre from September 30th to November 12th, 2017. See the Virtual Exhibit at mhma3.blogspot.ca LACOMBE EXPRESS
