SEVEN VIREB MEMBERS HONOURED AT FEBRUARY 27 AWARDS LUNCHEON IN NANAIMO NANAIMO, BC – Six members of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) received 2016 REALTORS Care® Awards at a special luncheon on February 27 in Nanaimo. VIREB hosted the event in conjunction with its annual general meeting to recognize members who give back to their communities. Coast Capital Savings sponsored the event for the tenth year in a row. VIREB Hosts First-Ever Buyers & Sellers Home Fair on April 29 in Nanaimo NANAIMO, BC – The Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) will host its first-ever Buyers & Sellers home Fair on Saturday, April 29 at Beban Park Social Centre in Nanaimo. With a theme of “learn from the real estate experts,” this consumer-focused event is an incredible opportunity for exhibitors to engage with consumers who are there to learn about real estate. VIREB has booked four notable speakers who will share their knowledge and expertise on mortgages, assessments, secondary suites, and the overall housing market. First up will be Tony Joe, a 25-year real estate veteran, past president of the Victoria Real Estate Board, and a PDP instructor for the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA). If you find the thought of buying or selling real estate daunting, Joe will help demystify the entire real estate transaction during his talk titled “Everything You Wanted to Know About Real Estate (But Were Afraid to Ask!)” Next up will be Maurice Primeau, a senior appraiser with BC Assessment, who will deliver “Assessments 101.” Primeau’s talk will cover how properties are valued, how BC
