Scott Brandon Little, 22, of Port Alberni is in custody and awaiting a court appearance on Wednesday, April 6 after an armed standoff with RCMP last week. Little has been charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or harm, one count of criminal harrassment and one count of possession of knives for a purpose dangerous to the public. Port Alberni RCMP spent an hour and a half negotiating with Little last Wednesday before he surrendered peacefully. Police received a call at 1:30 p.m. about a man armed with a knife walking along Fourth Avenue. Once he entered the Friendship Centre, the building was evacuated and the street in front of it cordoned off so police could surround the building. No one was injured in the incident.
