Not a Good Time for Bad Credit Actually, “never” is the time for bad credit. But one of the worst times that you will be reminded of this is when you want to apply for a mortgage. Prices are soaring! People that wait too long may fall off the boat . . . Protecting your credit rating is crucial. Things to note are:

That could max out your credit, and Oops! No mortgage. • Lenders want to see at least 2 active credit accounts on your credit bureau report, but too many accounts with balances may work against you. • What if the worst happened – bankruptcy? Apply for a secured credit card immediately. 1st most important thing to do after a bankruptcy is to start re-establishing great credit.
