Mayor rebuts social media comments ANDREW TRIPP

The BCSS Roadrunners tangled with the Southern Okanagan Secondary School Hornets this week. It was a spirited and physical affair, with the Hornets coming out on top.

“The first year in office as mayor required some difficult decisions to be made. There were things that happened that we had little or no control over and we dealt with them the best we could. Having said this, we accomplished a lot in 2015, and although we are still playing catch up from prior years, our focus will be on the year ahead.” So began the statement read by mayor Ed Smith at the Jan. 11 Greenwood City Council meeting, which saw a full gallery in attendance. ten statement. “The project targeted several men known to police.” Last week, Jan. 14 and 15, Kelowna RCMP Street Enforcement Unit (SEU) executed search warrants at that same address. Four Kelowna men, one Kelowna woman and one Beaverdell man were arrested without incident, Duncan confirmed. “Investigators located, seized

and towed several stolen items including an excavator (from Surrey), a dump truck (from Surrey), a travel trailer (from Kelowna) and a Black Dodge pickup truck (from Kelowna),” Duncan said. “A flat deck trailer and Kubota have also been seized for further investigation.” Current estimated value of the stolen property recovered is in ac-
