One fewer magic mushroom lab exists in North Cowichan thanks to a Nov. 6 raid. N o r t h C ow i c h a n / D u n c a n RCMP’s street crimes unit got help from E Division’s specialized Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response Team (CLEAR) to execute a warrant on a psilocybin grow op Friday night. Seized were both drug paraphernalia and a number of containers used to cultivate what is suspected to be psilocybin mushrooms. “It is unknown how long the homeowner has been operating this illegal lab,” said a press release issued by North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Krista Hobday. She said mould and fungi are generally associated with the growing of magic mushrooms and that’s a concern. See MAN AND WOMAN, Page 5
