Weekdays from 2 to 6pm I’ve lived on the North Island for almost 10 years and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else! I love the way that the city of Campbell River rallies around causes and jumps at the chance to help our our friends and neighbours whenever the need arises. When I’m not at the 2Day FM studios you’ll find me exploring the local trails with my boyfriend and our daughter who is almost 1! Join me weekday afternoons from 2-6pm! We’ll chat local events, Storm hockey, and enjoy great music. Reach out to me with your community events at (250) 287-44-44 or drop me an email robyn@2dayfm.ca

Main Gallery Phantom Limb

Canadian landscape painting is transfixed onto contemporary West Coast environments composed of traversing power lines, ordinary houses, and less -than-picturesque communities.

Fusing personal memories and collective interpretation, Poirier creates life size photo assemblages with photo transfers, wood, drywall and text.

Porcelain configured into a corporeal representation becomes familiar and alien, at once reminiscent of a prehistoric museum and a domestic display.

Colourful Banners Brighten Campbell River!

The students of thirteen local schools were busily painting banners this year with the theme “Generating hydroelectric power on the Campbell River System.” These colourful banners were mounted around Spirit Square, along Pier Street and throughout Willow Point. A special “Thank you!” to BC Hydro - this year’s Banner Project main sponsor. This partnership is timely due to the current John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project. BC Hydro is a Crown Corporation that has worked hard to engage the Campbell River community. Hydro has also developed a partnership with SD72 to pay for the bus costs so teachers and students can visit the John Hart site and within the public use areas. The Banner Project is truly a community based initiative for Campbell River to be proud of! Thanks to Public Works for hanging the banners. The Arts Council would also like to extend its appreciation to all of the volunteers that assisted with the project, and a special thank you to all the artists.
