Chamber announces JulyFest bands
The Honeymans, The Wild! and One Bad Son C AROLYN GR ANT Bulletin Editor
The Kimberley Chamber of Commerce has announced the bands for the JulyFest Saturday night dance at the civic centre. The opening band is none other than Kimberley legends, the Honeymans. They will be followed by Kelowna band, The Wild! The headliner is One Bad Son out of Saskatoon. The Honeymans need no introduction. They have been local favourites for many years
and have been much missed on the local music scene as they took a break from performing. The Wild! describe their music as the bastard son of AC/DC and ZZ Top, says their website. One Bad Son is having a break-out year. Their single Black Buffalo is getting heavy radio play. Fueled by the success of three major radio hits from the last album (“Scarecrows”, “It Ain’t Right” and “Retribution Blues”), the band spent the last two years touring constantly, converting audiences and gaining legions of loyal fans across the country. They are touring this summer with The Wild! Tickets for the Satur-
day night show (July 19) are on sale now and are a fantastic deal, says Chamber Manager Mike Guarnery. “Tickets are $35 plus taxes on line at kimberleyjulyfest.com,” he said. “These three bands will compliment the 11 bands we have booked to play the bocce pits.” JulyFest plans are well underway but as with every year, volunteers are needed. “All questions about JulyFest can go to jason@ k i m b e r l e y c h a m b e r. com,” Guarnery said. “Volunteers are encouraged to contact Jason so he can give you some idea of areas we need assistance such as the paSUBMITTED PHOTO rade, kids fest, bocce and The Wild! and One Bad Son will play the arena Saturday night.
